Ok, here is my opinion.

Just like the nvidia drivers section, if windows forum is to be divided it should be divided.

XP forum
Vista/7 Forum

Vista and 7 share much of heritage, both share same drivers, and have more in common.

XP/Vista forum just doesn't make sense.

I wouldn't put Vista and 7 in the same section. That's like putting suck and pretty good in the same category, it just doesn't work. ;)

Well it does make sense how it's done right now. It's just like with the graphics cards. The latest series gets it's own forum, then all of the legacy cards share their own. XP and Vista are the legacy OSes, and Windows 7 is the current OS.

In one aspect I agree with nekro:

XP = 5.1
Vista = 6.0
Win7 = 6.1

But at the same time, there is much more Windows7 news than XP/Vista, so keeping the two separate will help eliminate clutter.

tell who? if you would force everyone to use linux, you would have a lot of enemies.

zoomyfail? What are you on about? Tell who to use Linux? Have you seen 7 zoomy? For home desktop use 7 has no peer IMHO.

for my wifey and i, since we dont game (and i dont want to have to waste resrouces on AV) linux is a great fit. but additmedly, windows 7 is pretty sweet. :)

Well there you go. zoomy and his wife use Linux, might as well shut down the entire windows and PC gaming section.
