We're not going to find any WMD's.
Remeber playing hide and seek with OBL? We didn't catch bin Laden, and the press stopped talking about it. You don't even hear about it anymore. Bush and his people have to let this one go too, or they're going to face even more embarassment than they've been subjected to already.
What do you think?
I think that this capture only increases the chances of findind the very materials that you seem to think do not exist. I believe they exist, whether in Iraq or elsewhere. This is a regime that had 12 years to perfect the art of deception and hiding these weapons. I remember Sharon saying that the weapons were being smuggled into Syria months before we invaded Iraq. I dont know much about this, but I have heard that the Israeli Intelligence mechanism might be a fairly decent one.

Well, you're either an optimist or you believe Bush too much. Well, for US's sake I hope you're right. As far as deception goes, I think every government has experiance with that one; including the US. ;)

if they had 12 years of such and such training and what not to get expertise... how is it that this well trained/experienced nation fell within weeks ?
or were there capabilities blown out of all proportion ?
btw... I trust sharon as much as the neighbor's doberman when he's hungry... remember members of his cabinet are on RECORD as saying they wanted to further their agenda in the middle-east by piggy backing on the backs of the US army...

Actually its a miracle they did as well as they did, we are a 1st rate power, and they were at best a 4th rate one.
The only thing I expected was our being tied up in the cities. Which didn't happen, although, we are seeing a soldier a day being blown apart by RPG's.... :(
All in all, captured another Iraqi soldier, still no WMD's, and still no trials. I'm starting to wonder as these are offical POWs if they're being treated right correcting to the law.

People were whining that the UN inspectors needed more time to do their jobs after they had 10 years! The US has been there for two months and now people are saying "they have had enough time, if they were going to find them they would have by now"

This is a simple and brilliant point. I will put forth the come back the left will use. "The US military has unfettered access to any site they want."
This is easy since the WMD may not be in country or well burried.

So well buried that it could be used in unburied, cleaned, assembled and deployed in 45 minutes? Hmm, not very likely.
The left will also point out the fact that the UN hadn't been inside Iraq for 10 years. So DaveW's comment is pure BS.

Really so why were they kicked out?..........because they had no WMD in 1998? Talk about BS. So let me get this straight. They had them in 98 and everyone agreed they did but.....the don't know because Saddam distroyed them and never told any one.

Well Has Blix says, "Pride". So far he's been right about everything else, and he was the one that was actually on the ground, as opposed to Bush and our spooks.

The 45 minutes propaganda was a British thing. I don't recall that being the official US propaganda.
But anyway...where are the weapons of mass destruction? The longer it takes to find these weapons, the more likely it will fall under the wrong (wronger? Is that a word?) hands now that Saddam no longer has control over them.
Feel safer now? I remember someone on another site saying that a war in Iraq was about security and not about oil. Somehow not having Saddam put down these religious lunatics on the streets in a violent manner does not make me feel safer. Now we have these religious fundies chanting anti-American slogans. They hate Saddam, no doubt, but they also hate Americans.
And I don't believe for a moment that those religious morons want "freedom". They want power, not freedom. The coalition must be very careful not to allow any of these morons in the government.

maybe because saddam didnt want his domain violated by foreign powers?
btw, why doesnt the usa let inspectors of the un inspectors into its chemical labs? maybe they have illegal weapons in there? oh no, who would think that! in that case its of course about national pride since we cant let EUROPE interfer in american issues!
EDIT: added that..

Alright folks, time to ask the good questions
http://www.iraqwar.ru/iraq-read_article.php?articleId=9474&lang=en
Still not about the oil? What are the odds this would have happened without us going to war? I wonder if the Iraqi have a say in this one? Pardon me, but I feel sick
