Since NV36 is basically the smaller brother of NV35, will it have UltraShadow and Intellisample HCT support? Uttar, any ideas?
Frankly, I don't have any info on that.
But it would just make ZERO sense not to include UltraShadow since it's so cheap to implement I'd guess, it's really just a culling method for shadow volumes, eh...
As for Intellisample HCT - Well, I'm sure nVidia will advertise it. But the whole intellisample technology's performance is based first on the implementation, of course, but also on the cache sizes I believe.
So, while the implementation/idea could be identical to the NV35's intellisample, the cache sizes will likely be smaller - just like on the RV350, actually.
That simply means it's not gonna be as efficient as 4x AA's compression on the NV35, but for 2x AA it should be very near that I suppose.
Also, I'm sure it'll still be faster than on the NV31, considering the difference of implementation ( that is, if there's even one - might be just bigger caches on the NV35. But then, maybe the NV36 will have bigger cache than the NV31, one, eh... Who knows! )
As I said, I don't have any serious info on that. Ain't gonna try to get any such info either, because it just seems obvious to me nVidia will advertise both for the NV36 - as to how efficient they'll be compared to the NV35, we very rarely know this kind of stuff before benchies anyway :)
