From the UT2004 info page: (http://www.infogrames.net/games/unreal_tournament_2004_pc_action/)

There is a software renderer for UT2003 too. It was not made by Epic. Since UT2004 is the same engine as UT2003, I doubt Epic is the one responsible for the software renderer.

Hey, if people with junk computers want to play UT2004 with software rendering let them, they are just free kills anyway with their low resolution and low framerate :p

I've only just bought Unreal Tournament 2003, so now I have to buy the next one to get vehicles :(

Epic will have trade-in program for those of us who have purchased retail copies of ut2k3 to get a certain % off the purchase ut2k4.

Face it, you can't make enough money in the "informed computer enthusiasts" arena. So companies have to go out and bring in the n00bs, therefore killing the experience for us with a sharp stick. I've come to accept it as a fact of life.

That could be construed as leet.

Another thing, whoever had the G-Man by his name needs to
remove it. Not cool.

I am anything BUT leet. Only voicing an opinion. :)

Q: What do you call a person playing UT2k4 online in software mode?

A: Cannon-fodder!

Hey, it's nice to have some easy-meat occasionally when you want to feel 'leet... ;)

I remember playing Unreal Tournament in software mode. Those were the good old days. I must have played morpheus in the demo for at least the length of most games. Then I put a Voodoo3 3000 in my beast. The sad thing is that I still have it.

If it weren't for that, we prob. woulda had Doom III graphics years ago.
