How to keep track of spendings?

I am looking for software that I can use to keep track of income and spendings. Basically I want to be able to input a item and a amount paid then add a item with amount received. I need it to keep track of a small ebay thing I got going on.

I got Quicken but that is way to complex for what I need and a bit overkill and damn confusing

I use Excel to do my checkbook and banking in. It's as simple and easy as Gib.
