Hi. I was cleaning out my hard drive today (not literally, lol) and I noticed I had nVidia stuff that took up 6GB! I deleted the Stereoscopic 3D Driver which took up 1.5GB by itself: must've accidentally installed that. But I looked at the regular drivers and I saw this:

This can't be normal, right? Granted, I do have nVidia GPU drivers and nVidia mobo drivers, but dang. 4.5GB? Can anyone confirm this?

its a bug... it probably considers the entire system folder or something... im on win 7 and it doesnt show any size for the nvidia drivers... the stereoscopic driver is auto installed but i just keep it disabled at all times since i dont have the glasses

I don't get how 169MB worth of drivers (112MB GPU + 57MB nForce) can turn into 4.5GB. I cleared out some other crap, so I don't need the space as much as I once did, but, to me, this seems a bit outlandish.

P.S. Oh, so the 3D thing is auto-installed? Thanks....make sure I uninstall that first thing, then! :)

Its obviously a glitch.
If you want to be sure, check the free space on your hard drive, then uninstall the nvidia drivers.
You won't get more than ~100Mb back.

I guess so. I'm don't care that much, unfortunately, to check, lol: after clearing out some old games, I now have a comfortable 25GB buffer versus my :headexplode::headexplode::headexplode: face when I saw I had 3GB left out of my 640GB drive.

10.2GB?! Maybe it counts all the installations you've ever made; it doesn't delete old ones. Then, I could see this as being true.

I found where the previous drivers are being stored. It's here: C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository
Look for folders starting with "nv". I had ~7GB woth of these. It won't let you delete them right away since they are owned by the "SYSTEM" user. You can delete them if you change it to "Administrators" or whatever you want to use. It still shows 11.0GB in Programs and Features. It's like nVidia keeps incrementing that number for no reason at all.

number in the programd and features is most likelly size of your system32 folder.
the size is calculated always from a single folder, it can't calculate multiple directories.
and it only stores older versions of drivers if you don't uninstall old version correctly. if you uninstall old version before installing new one no drivers will be stored in filerepository.
and that is true for all driver types from all companies, it is windows that stores those drivers.
