Windows 7 can be quite annoying. Printer is shared on primary machine, it is visible as shared. But then when you try to connect to it, it complains that no printer were found.
another screw up

I really do not like the changes to network either, and the new homegroup is stupid as well. I haven't tried a network printer yet.

I am having similar issue with my dell 926. It says driver installed but when I try to print it says spooler service is stopped or some crap. I finally got the printer working by installing the drivers in Vista compatibility mode. Now the printer works, but when I try to print from my other laptops, it says driver missing.

Printer is installed on Windows 7 machine, and shared, other windows 7 machines see the printer. But when you try to connect to it i get a message that printer is not there.
When I try to connect to the printer from Server 2008 R2 (win7 based) machine it connects to it fine.

LOL
Install Linux.
What drivers are you guys using? Ones that came with 7? Vista drivers? Downloaded drivers that are meant to be 7 ready?

LOL
Install Linux.
If they install Linux then Windows 7 still won't be able to see the printers. ;)

Try BeOS then, or Mac OS, it just works.

My printer was working fine..I believe it is using what ever drivers windows 7 picked up for it. I have a driver for it that I used on XP, ill try installing that.
