Several of us have just stepped up to the newest AMD chips, yummy AM3 goodness.

I think all of us have our rigs finally set up now... so.. it's time for some benchies!!

I'll start things off with some tidbits:

@ 2.8ghz, my x3 Ran SuperPi 1M in 24 sec.
@ the current testing speed (17x200, 3.4), it's down to 21.

Here's my Sandra 2009 Processor Arithmetic @ 3.4, measured against other canned AMD results:

In this test it runs at the same speed as an older Phenom 9950 and is right between a Q6600 @ 2.13 and 2.4ghz. Not too shabby for having one less core.

More to come. PeterJensen/Shamrock/Marqmajere and anyone else who has new AM3 cpu's, go ahead and post your stuff here so we can compare wherever we can.

I tend to think that my 4800+ 939 rig is fairly fast. But, well, as these benchies pile up, I'm seeing that it just gets its @ss handed to it, time and time again.

And yeah, I know, I could put some I7 results in here for comparison, but it is pretty well known that in a lot of benchmarks like these the I7 does its own arse-whipping... so I'm just gonna include AMD cpus in my results...

The x3 @ 3.4 performs this bench exactly on par with a Phenom 9950, and slides in between the Intel Q8200 & Q9450.

I don't do synthetic benchmarks. Here's a couple games:

Spec: (everything is bone stock from factory)
AMD Phenom II 955
Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P
OCZ Reaper DDR3 1600
EVGA 260GTX 192 core SSC(yes, only one, no SLi)
NEC Multisync FE1250+ (max res is 1920x1440)
WinXP Pro SP3 (yes, only using 3.25GB of RAM)
Have to mention my case: Cooler Master HAF-32 omg, I love this case! (3 200mm fans!)

NV driver 182.05

Call of Duty 4 Cargo ship (full stage) 4xAA/8xAF
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
2496, 48375, 21, 257, 51.597

GRID (Spa 2 full laps) 8xAA/16xAF
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
4620, 95453, 29, 106, 48.401

This space reserved for other benches.

I don't do synthetic benchmarks.

At least run a 1M test with SuperPi! C'mon! :captnkill:

24 seconds for Super Pi 1M? Wow I figured it would be quicker.

A 955 @ 4.25ghz can only get it down to 16.235 sec.

If superpi was integral in making my breakfast in the morning or something like that, I'd be disappointed. But I'm not, especially given that I'm still used to seeing results from 939-based X2's around 2.4ghz.

Not trying to cut down your system I'm just saying I thought it would be faster. I haven't been keeping up with AMD cpus lately though.

My old AMD 3800+ overclocked to 2.52Ghz used to run it at 34 seconds I believe.

I will try superpi now :) hold on

Let's try the Far Cry 2 demo.

It'd be nice if there was a full game that we all had so we could comparatively bench.

EDIT: lolol I thought I had found a demo for Far Cry 2. Turns out it was just the research demo from the first game. I'm sure this would have its arse whupped by our rigs, no? This old demo doesn't have all the HDR bells and whistles, right?

I'd like to see some Crysis and GTA 4 benches.

The 955 Black, 4GB, GTX275 I tested with GTA @1680x1050 with settings at:
High, High, Very High, High, Very High

sliders at: 45, 100, 35, 5

It scored 56-58fps on the benchmark.
.
.
.
Crysis at 16x10, 4xAA, all settings Very High was about 23fps average using the Crysis benchmark tool(program, not built in).

I only have the Crysis Demo and GTA:SA. :p

What say you, other AM3 havers? ^_0

Jeebus, the I7 benchmark thread is how many pages long?

lol

Stock speeds.

3Dmark06 - 12,008

SuperPI to 1 mil - 29.110

Sandra - Dhrystone 21.43
Whetstone 17.49

Nothing fancy, but it plays WoW, L4D, and CoD4 at 1680x1050 with 8xAA and 16xAF perfectly. (~60fps perfect) :)

IIRC although the reviews show that although the Athlon II lags behind in some synthetic benchmarks, it games quite capably.
