NOTE: DeviceStage ready device is not a device that just shows up in Devices and Printers, Its a device that either has a corrent hardware Icon and or expanded device options/controls.
So far, the only DeviceStage ready devices I have are:
Logitech G9 mouse
Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows
Microsoft Lifecam VX-6000 Webcam
for some unfamilar with DeviceStage, here is an example

It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, but in this case, I would settle for a sentence, to define where to find this data?

Why? The device manufacturers have to provide the drivers, either to MS to be included or via download from their own site. Are they going to sue themselves?

yeah, what crainger said, device manufactures have the SDK and have to add support by them self.

Thought the manufacturers would be mad because MS is providing something to use instead of their software. Typically features like that are only offered through their third party software.
But, if they have to give them to MS, then ok there wouldn't be a problem.

EU will sue them. Reason is irrelevant, but they are about to receive at least €3 billions fine.
My Brother MFC printer shows up like that, big picture and everything. I am running 7100.

The Microsoft Device Experience Development Kit provides information and material you need to know to develop Device Stage experiences for eligible devices.
Device Stage provides a new way for users to interact with eligible devices in Windows 7. It includes a visual interface that makes it easy for customers to find and use applications and services for their devices. Device Stage also provides a multifunction version of AutoPlay for certain eligible devices. Device makers that develop device experiences for Device Stage use a new set of XML schemas to specify rich branding and customization of the interface, including defining custom tasks to install software and links to services. Device makers can update their custom Device Stage experiences by submitting updates to Microsoft for distribution across the Internet to PCs running Windows 7.
This information applies for the Windows 7 operating system.
This is the 7R1 release of the kit. Included in this version:
• Device Stage General Development Kit
• Windows 7 Device Stage Design Guide
• Windows 7 Device Stage Development Guide
• Windows 7 Device Stage Reference Guide
• Windows 7 Device Stage XML Schemas
• Windows 7 Device Stage Development Samples
