Could a couple of you guys with Radeons run battlefield with fraps running and do a test for me please?:)

I'm currently just finishing my write up on the results. As volt pointed out (http://www.nvnews.net/reviews/gainward_gf4_ti4200-8X/BF1942.shtml) in his review when AA/AF are enabled performance drops like a brick. Is this the case with ATI cards too? I would test myself but that would just take too long to do:D

Did you use Fraps or are you just guessing? If thats true, Im DEFFINITLY getting a Radeon as my next card.

With my 4400 (dead now) BF1942 ran like crap with anything more than NO AF and NO AA. Even then, it wasnt consistantly smooth.

Wasnt there a bug where you had to lower hardware acceleration one notch to make BF1942 to run smooth? Or was that only in the demo?

What's your system specs Vamp? If you are not running more then 512Mb the game is a crawl. But for some stupid reason when you run with 1Gig it's butter pie.

I'm using the Hercules 9800 Pro and I'm playing with all the settings maxxed ( I think it's like 6x FSAA and 16x AA?) in 1280x960x32bit and I have no slowdowns whatsoever. Have you tried the latest 1.4 patch?

I have a feeling it's probably not this one, but this beauty from Monitors Direct (http://shop.monitorsdirect.com/product.asp?sku=2319078) is one I'm probably going to pick up.

Nice price for 2048x1536 @ 85 Hz :drooling:

Thats pretty sweet. I can only do 75Hz at 2048x1536 but thats really not a problem :)

PS: ViewSonic P225fb Its a trinitron super flat screen so the text is pretty slick. You can see it in action at QCon.

Edit:
Actually I think I will be hooked up to a 50 inch DLP monitor but we will see. :D
