we just got in these new little HP 2510 tiny notebooks and they have these micro 1.8" drives in them. They are SATA but they have the 1.8" SATA connectors on them.

The problem is that for some reason or the other, I can't get them to boot to any bootable disks like to boot to our norton ghost server and I also have a norton boot disk with a ghost image on it that it won't boot to either... it's like it sees the disk and will start booting but almost as if it's treating it's internal dvd drive like a usb drive. both of my boot disks will initially boot up and start their thing but once it gets to the parts with loading cd drivers it bombs out.

the larger hp notebooks did this and I just pulled the drives and put them into another model HP and was able to boot and load an image onto the hdd then just swap teh drive back into the machine.

With these new ones, I can't do that becuase they have this tiny little 1.8" sata connector and I need some type of adaptor that can either convert it to a standard stata connection or a usb connection or something..

any help would be great!

Make one.No ****,how many connector pins are we talking about here? Let me look.............7. Do you have any tools/skills? If you trim a full size down and move the pins then epoxy it it will work:D Im not being a dick, looks like a fun project.Uber&Out
