Abit IC-7G
1gb Geil Golden Dragon pc3500
P4 2.4C
5900 Ultra


or will an AMD solution be better? Keep in mind ill want to upgrade processors later and I HEAR THAT AMD WILL BE PHASING OUT THE XP LINE (is there any truth to this rumor?)

Yeah thats pretty good, even better if you overclock :)

Yes AMD will be moving over to socket 754 in the Athlon64, but the XP processors will around for the next couple of years though but they won't recvive much of a clock boost till they move down to .90m.

yea i was planning on overclock but #1 i dont really know how #2 i want a stable setup i can run for the life of the system #3 i dont want to get too freakin wild with the cooling slotution (something close to stock if possible. If you could gimme a hand that would be ****in great.

I have to recommend the SLK-900U from Thermalright and a 92mm Sunon fan.

34dBA, 48 CFM, and low RPM means that it's cool AND damn near silent. I can't hear the Thermalright over the 5 other fans in my box... heh.

Plus, it's looks really cool. :D

Its a good setup man! :) Especially if u will be overclocking the 2.4C!
