Radeon 9800 NON-Pro available

NewEgg.com is selling a sapphire Radeon 9800 128Mb NON-Pro... FOR $299!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I have never even heard of a 9800 non-pro, let alone seen any reviews of one. Does anyone know how this card performs? Is it better than a 9700 Pro (which can be bought for as low as $270 on some sites)?

Even the "Product link" at newegg doesnt lead to anything, the page doesnt exist. Its probably a 9700 pro with some new features.... but I dont know, so, we better keep looking for reviews :)

Appearently, people can get some nice overclocks with 9800 non-pros. Not bad considering that its just a slower 9800 Pro :)

I think I'll probably end up buying one of these when I upgrade... well, assuming I actually have some money :)

I was searching bb's in the chicagoland area for an infocus x1 and ran across 9800np boards at the niles, deerfield, and old orchard stores...

299 a pop, the boxes were marked 325 core/ 580 mem. I wish I could have pulled one out of the box to see whta kind of ram they had -but it prolly would've of just bummed me out anways as I just spent 400 bones on the pro version 7 weeks ago...(bad enough the 9800aiw cards just came out for only 50 more AND they have faster ram :) )

Heh, anyone wanna buy a slightly used 9800 pro ;)

9800np's were in stock not aiw's... good thing too, as I'm sure I would have been weak enough to add the 450 and tax onto the 900 the x1 pj set me back allready :)

thats slow on the ram, thus a 9700 pro is faster. The only thing a 9800 non pro has going is if you can overclock the ram past 9700 pro speeds

A Rage3D user, Liuke, had a 9800 non pro and was able to overclcok one way beyond 9800 Pro speeds...so this definately might be one of the best values out there.
