Guys i may order these parts today as a "small" upgrade, Any info or input? ... Will i notice a nice performance increase to justify the 400+ im spending from my current setup? (i plan to overclock the i7 CPU)

Yes, I got a nice bump going from a Q6600 to a 920. Looks like a good setup, those D0's go to 4.0ghz easy. Just make sure you have a good cooling solution. ;)

Vantage, make sure you run any in-game benchmarks too so you can see the difference.

You'll love the upgrade, and with a D0 you shouldn't have too much of a problem hitting 4.0Ghz or more.

Damn it, Made a balls up!

Ordered the wrong motherboard, Well its not really the wrong board just it supports Crossfire only & i figure although im not going SLI i may as well get a SLI board as i always buy Nvidia cards, Anyay although more expencive the board i mnet to get supports both Crossfire & SLi.

If that is the vanilla P6T, it's what I have. It has holes for 775 and 1366 coolers. I have a True I bought for my 775 rig and didn't have to get the 1366 bracket. Also it does tri-sli and xfire.

Yes look around the socket in pic 3 there are 2 sets of holes. One for 1366 and one for 775

Ah sweet, Will save me money & time buying & ordering the Bolt-Thru-Kit if its the same board, Im aware its tri-sli and xfire but are all three PCI-E slots x16 or is one x4 speed?

I ran 3DMark Vantage the other day with the below set-up ..

Q6600@3.5GHz.
Asus Commando P965: Republic of Gamers Motherboard.
4GB Corsair 800MHz XMS2 memory.
GTX 260 896MB - 702MHz clock core, 1404MHz Shader clock & 1214MHz memory.

I scored 12444 points in 3DMark Vantage, Vantage was ran at default settings.

In a few days after a have time to mess around finding a stable overclock with the new rig ill run vantage again and post the score.

Well i know im dragging this thread from way in the past but ive had a fiddle with some setting and done alittle overclock, I cant help feeling i could get alot higher with better cooling.

Been thinking of getting buying a Corsair H50-1 water cooler, How owns one? What are your opinions?

Anyway heres my overclock(see sig also). Its a prime95 Small FFTs stress test, My cpu voltage its a 1.1000v and i have Load-line Calibration enabled in the bios. I just adjusted the BCLK to get my overclock.

What do you think?Any input?

faster ram is always better then a faster cpu if your on a budget

I don't like to completely disagree with someone in more than one thread so I'll say in a lot of cases that might be true...

Are you on the wind up again??

Anyway back to topic.

Been testing some more, Ive got a multiplier of x21 and the bus speed at 181 = 3801MHz.

Memory is now at 1448MHz.

A small FFTs Prime95 test running and a high of 71c(usually 69c but flickers to 71c every now and then) on 1.1550v.

Now willing to try to get any higher as im not willing to allow the temps to go any higher that that.

When i get a Corsair H50-1 water cooler ill try and get higher. :D

(back to 3.6GHz for 24/7 usage though)
