couple of them actually:

1. is dual channel in AMD chips still only shows a difference with integrated graphics?

2. what's the impact with Intel? is it more importent because of
the high fsb?

3. what is the bw of dual channel? (2x for the fsb)x2 for dual?

last questions for me I promise :angel2:

(until next time :) )

1. Yes, it only makes a huge difference in integrated video mobos. Like in the range of 50% on integrated systems and 5-10% on others.

2. Yeah, I believe it has a bigger impact on Intel boxes. Don't quote me on that--I'll get a bud of mine to check when I see him.

3. No idea.

5-10% is not to be sniffed at :P

Yes, it dual channel has more of an impact with Intel platforms because the dual channel Intel motherboards allows the system bandwidth to equal the bandwidth of the FSB on the CPU. For example, the 800FSB P4s bandwidth is matched by dual channel DDR400 on the motherboard.

While AMD CPUs already have their FSB bandwidth matched by the memory clock of single channel. Dual channel is there only to be a little more efficient.

Dual channel doubles the bandwidth over single channel.

so, out of these options, the performance gain will be the largest with
dual channel CAS2.5
single channel CAS2
single channel CAS2.5 overclocked to 200 FSB

with an 2500+

??????????

From what I have read over at the AMDMB forums, a lower FSB in dual channel will be better than a higher FSB in single. So for eg. dual channel at say 200MHz would perform better than say 230MHz single channel.
