So what exactly would guide him here for that question, when the OOo help files and even the place you download it from guides you to those forums?

It's not a "problem" with him identifying his religion.
You can only speak for yourself, and if that isn't a problem for you, then I'm glad. Even if you could speak for the forum, the internet is a much bigger place than nV News, and I know from experience that simple faith identification can and does cause problems. I once got banned from a forum, because I refused to remove a signature bar which contained a Bible verse, which should not be offensive to anyone of any faith, because it was simply good sense for anyone.
