View Full Version : Nvidia Geforce 190.62 WHQL drivers
What drivers did you fall back to that gave you 10 more FPS in GTA IV?
EDIT Im still getting 65.5 FPS using the same settings Ive been using.
181.22 are the best for me with GTA IV. I'm getting about 42fps on the benchmark with these, but the new drivers I get 32fps and stuttering.
Seems it's AA in Fallout3 that's causing the pausing, so I've turned it off.
BTW, I have a 9 series card. In the GTA IV forums, people are reporting that the 181.22 is the best for this series of cards and it stops stuttering.
All drivers worked fine with my sister's 10 years old 17 inch CRT monitor. Been installed latest Geforce 190.62 driver in Windows 7 Home Premium on her PC last month.
Make sure your CRT monitor use default Windows 7 Generic PnP Monitor driver.
Still no dice for me :thumbdwn: I only have the RC version of Win 7. I wonder if the RTM version has this same problem. I hope not :headexplode:

Ah that explained it. I cleaned installed Windows 7 Home Premium RTM downloaded from Technet on my sister PC last month, not the RC one. It seemed to me that RTM fixed the CRT problem broke in RC. :)

I just installed the Enterprise RTM 90 free trial and my CRT still doesn't act right :banghead: The only drivers that have ever worked for me in Windows 7 were 182.50.

What is your CRT monitor brand and model?
Have you tried custom resolutions?

It's a 24" HP A7217A. Biggest, baddest gaming mofo CRT on the planet :D 102lbs, lol.
I've tried setting any resolution I could but it always maxes out the resolution of the monitor to 2304x1440. But when I set it to a smaller resolution it just scales the desktop down smaller but doesn't actually change the resolution :thumbdwn:

I researched on that monitor, it is a rebadged of Sony GDM-FW900. Many people having problems with Vista and Windows 7 on both Nvidia and ATI drivers, it need proper monitor driver.
Windows 7 RTM have Sony GDM-FW900 driver, you can install it over Generic PnP driver and give it a try.
If it wont work then dump it and get a LCD monitor. :p
/me warms up a slice pizza on top of GitDat's monitor. :p

You should set it on the video cards instead. They'll cook a frozen pizza in under 3 mins :lol2:

Just tried the Sony GDM-FW900 and still no dice :(
I do have a 22" 3D Samsung LCD. I only use it for 3D gaming though because I can't stand LCD motion blur. Must have the best of both worlds :cool3:
Uhh, don't switch to 3D and then switch back to 2D in the RTM version on Win 7 with these drivers :wtf: Hard locks my whole PC everytime. I even uninstalled/driver cleaner/reinstalled and it does the same thing.
I didn't have this problem in the RC version. I just can't win! :headexplode: Anyone else with RTM and Geforce 3D Vision that can confirm this?
Yep i have 3d vision and it just happened to me :(

we should see a new driver on or before the 15th
That would be awesome. For me, I can't use TV-Out on any drivers from the 186.xx series on up. :( Well it works, but there's some annoying grey/black border around the screen. Kind of sucks since the 190's gave me nice performance in games that I play too. :(
