Hmmm I checked my event viewer, Nvidia display driver service ran fine with no errors. So it not a bug.

Why do you have that service running? It does nothing so just disable it.

Nvidia display driver service run automatically all the time. I checked the task manager service that the Nvidia display driver service provides system and desktop level support and it depends on nvlddmkm.sys.

So you shouldnt disable it.

Driver won't install for me.

Sits for a long time on 'Installing driver components'. Then says 'System was not modified'.

EDIT: After a reboot (something I rarely do) the driver installed fine. In fact it did not require a further restart.

I have been disabling it ever since the 6800 GT days with no problems. It doesn't do anything useful at all, it's just another service running taking up resources. In fact many sites reccomend disabling it.
Yes it does depend on nvlddmkm.sys but you are not disabling nvlddmkm.sys you are disabling the usless nvvsvc.exe (Nvidia Display Driver Service)

As with all previous 190 drivers I am not expecting too much from these. Giving them a shot now, will post back with +/- comments.

They are better than the others, but my vista install is a little wonkey and COD4 will crash on me sometimes. Source games seem to be improved over the last 190's thou.

The NVIDIA Display Driver Service service has reported an invalid current state 32.

This happens in Windows 7 x64 Edition. Vista is fine.

I sent Driver feedback to Nvidia.
