Been digging around the drivers.... :p :D

Uttar, NV33 is mentioned also, as you can see from the picture. It isn't a typo, thats for sure now. ;)

Hmmm very interesting, it seem Nvidia already has NV40 prototype made by IBM and probably already received first NV40 revision sample chips from IBM. :D

I knew it wasn't a typo as soon as a few hours after I posted it.
What it is, though, isn't much more exciting than a typo... Wasn't able to correct it though, otherwise it would have been too obvious it existed ( and I wasn't supposed to say that :) )

Good to get a confirmation of the NV40/NV41/NV42, though. Most likely emulations though.

Don't think it's emulation, I think it's more likely to be associated with different code optimisations in the driver. Like Aniso approach etc. It's a problem with a UDA that you have to support different architectures with the same code base when much of the code may not be shared.

Yeah, I know that - what I meant is that this is the driver nVidia is probably using on their emulation machines :) Because in order to see if the silicon will work, it's an awful lot easier to emulate it first.

Yeah i agree,

i bet by now they had enough time to setup one of those "IKOR" i think thats right boxes?

that can be switched to act like any chip you program, accpet at horrrrribly low speeds?

could they use older cards on ln2 or very highly overclocked otherwise to give a close estimation or perhaps alpha silcon of the new cards underclocked and estimate how much itll scale?
