I need some advice. Which among the PBA card makers are known to have the best 2d quality? The card I want to get is a R9000. I don't think it's possible to get BBA R9k cards where I am. It's gonna replace a GF2 MX in a old PC, which isn't working to well now. Thanks.

BBA=Built By ATI

PBA=Powered by ATI

PBA cards are the 3rd party built ones, similar to Nvidia cards which are made by other companies, not by Nvidia.

I have seen a friends Hightech Excalibur 9Kpro, its 2D quality was really good, I found it nicer than the G400 with same type of monitor next to it.... I also own a Hercules 9500Pro, which is good too... (but the hercules fan is ridiculusly loud, I have replaced it with much quieter cooling....)

It would be hard to fudge up the 2D quality of any current ATI card as the GPU has the 2D drivers (hardware stuff) built-into the chip.
