Hey guys I was wondering what your thought were on this issue I been having. I am getting stable and constants fps but every 20ft in game I walk it stutters :headexplode: It makes the game very unplayable.. My curretn specs

Q6600 3.4GHz
ASUS P5K Deluxe
4GB 1066 5-4-4-12
8800GT KO
1.5TB OS drive

The games maxed out at 1920x1200 with no frame rate issues yet it stutters :o Could it be a texture streaming issue?

It stutters in DX10 when moving fast, like in a vehicle... I'm pretty sure that happens to everyone.

If you play in DX9 it will be smooth... looks barely any different, if different at all.

There are a lot of good games coming in my opinion... Red Faction 3, Resident Evil 5, Batman... those are all just in the next two weeks.

Yup, it's a DX10 issue, I never could solve it. Use DX9, looks 99% the same anyway.

I never had shuttering with Far Cry 2 under DirectX 10 and also the game not POS to me.

Do not run the game in DX9.

Simply do this fix and it gets rid of the stuttering.

Open console (~)

type (gfx_maxfps 30)

Actually you can use any number that you wish but keep in mind if you go to high the stuttering will return. I set my fps at 45 and it stays that way the entire time with no stuttering.

You might have to use a lower number though seeing my system is a good bit stronger than yours mythy.

Have you played Dead Space? Highly recommend it. Cod: W@W single player is not that bad. Wolfenstein is pretty decent apparently.

Actually he would be better off not listening to some child who probably hasnt played the game longer than 30 minutes.

I actually passed it, but nice try. I also was half kidding, hence the (:p). It was one of THE worst games I ever played, period.

Oh yeah, Wolfenstein. If you're an old school FPS fan you need to buy that ASAP.

And Farcry 2 is quite good, ignore Bob... it just has some annoying issues you have to work around.

yea I had tried that back when I played through the game. Limiting my FPS to 30 FPS isn't a fix. I can run DX9 full FPS and its fine. Capping FPS to me isn't a fix.

You can cap it at anything you want he said, even 60fps, which is more than fine for a singleplayer FPS.

Did you even read my post? :headexplode:

I will say it again.........this is a better fix than running in DX9 because for one thing your minimum FPS is a whole lot better in DX10.

Basically the idea is to cap the frame rate just high enough that you no longer experience the stuttering.

The way that I did it was to start out with a cap of 40 and then work my way up until the stuttering became visable again and then I backed it down just a bit and after that point everything was consistent and silky smooth.

This is a much better fix than running in dx9 for the mere fact that dx10 in fc2 handles AA so much better than dx9.

DX10 runs faster here and then put some of the options on Ultra seem to make it less laggy, very strange. DX10 benchmark shows 40fps, Very High, 1440x900.

It's not the fps that is the problem, it's the stutter... the two are unrelated. Next time you drive a jeep look constantly at the surroundings... I bet you see them skip forward, for lack of a better term.

I see what you mean yes.
