Hopefully my upgrade list will remain short and sweet well into 2011....

TBH I don't think I'll be upgrading for at least another year. The rig's still coping fine with most things I throw at it. Although I've been considering getting a second hand QX9650 offov eBay to tide me over :p

I was thinking of getting 8gb but theres no point (for me).

Some kind of graphics card probably.

Q9650

Then maybe some water cooling, Probably not though.

Mobo upgrade Q3 2010 maybe.

Next but not immediate, dual SSD's for the main rig.

Waiting for the mobile i7's to be released so I can pickup a new gaming laptop.

And depending on my budget, I really want to get a 30inch LCD and upgrade my GPU's to match.

First, GT300.

Then, probably next year, an i7 or i5 that overclocks well, a board that supports PCI-E 3.0, SATA 6Gbit and USB 3.0.

And whenever a 256Gb SSD is available for a reasonable price I'll get one of those. :)

And Windows 7 at some point... :o

you didn't pre-order?

you didn't pre-order?

Na, I canceled my preorder for the upgrade because I won't be able to use it since I'm using Vista Ultimate... plus, I got this license from Technet and I've been able to use it on a few different systems I have around the house. If I upgraded it it'd deactivate this key and screw up all the other PCs. I'll wait a bit and just buy a full version.

Technet must be sweet, Fair play.

Well, a lot depends on how my finances go. I've considered selling my DT altogether as money was short. Work is picking up though so I might get to keep it.

Assuming I keep the rig, I'm looking at 8GB DDR3 1600 and the Thermalright Ultra120 Extreme (if that Boram cooler grey turned me onto doesn't appear soon). If it takes me long enough to make the above purchase, then I might just sell my GTX260 and get the 5870- maybe two. Like I said, a lot depends on finances.

I'm also looking at the 28" Hanns-G monitor. Planning to purchase it from Costco as their old 5-year return policy is still active for monitors (I believe, though I'm not 100% certain on that).

In order of importance, hard drive, a M-Audio delta card, and a new monitor.

Maybe a new processor at some point not too far down the road as well.

GT300, SSD Drive, W7 ...... probably a PSU with that.

Otherwise I think the rest of my system is gonna hold up well for another year or so.

Finish up my AM3 build. Then it will be either an HD5870 or GT300. Already pre-ordered 7 so I hope to have the new card by the time that drops.

Maybe an SSD if the wife will allow it.
