I have a E6850 I want to use to put together another lite rig. I have a Asus P35 set up now, but I know some newer configurations have come out before the i7.

The reason I am asking is I have heard of issues with the P45/X48's and some of the others. I'm not sure exactly which one it was, but one of them was horrible (or so I've heard).

If you were to buy a Intel 775 MB, what what you get? SLI is ok too.

I honestly have heard of very few problems with the Gigabyte P43/45 motherboards. The Asus ones are really popular. P5K, and others. Just select the one that has the features you are interested in. And they are pretty cheap now. Make sure you grab the latest bios too.
Bottom line: I'd go for Gigabyte or Asus :)

Thanks. Maybe it was the X48's I heard there were issues with? I dunno.

My brother has a Gigabyte P45 and I have a Gigabyte P35. They're both excellent boards.

Ok, I check out Gigabytes website....they have 24 P45 MB's.....JFC.....

Asus has like 3 for each chipset. Regular, Deluxe and Premium in most cases.

I hated my X48 board; it ran way too hot. If you want to hit some crazy high fsb nothing beats a P45 board. If you want SLI and a nice oc grab an evga 750 ftw:)

I'm still rocking a P65 chipset... no problems here :p My server PC runs a P45 chipset and that thing gets pretty damn hot.
