Hi. I have some trouble with starting X. I have try to use 29,31 and 36 driver ver. but no result.
When i try to run startx or even X -config /etc/X11/xorg.conf, my screen is going to sleep after few seconds.
I can return to my ttyv with Ctrl+Alt+F1 and terminate Xorg process without any problems.
But the most interesting thing for me, that i can't find any errors. Xorg.0.log doesn't contain any errors.
It's look like everything goes fine.
After few hours i decided to try run with nv default driver.
I unload nvidia.ko module, generate new xorg.conf with Xorg -configure. and try to run X -config /root/xorg.conf.new.
I have received an error :
(EE) NV(0): Failed to map MMIO registers: No such file or directory
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.
Fatal server error:
no screens found
I understand the problem with screens, but what should I do with MMIO registers...
Update:
I have rolled buck my nvidia drivers to 180.60 and my xorg runs fine.
I have attached my bug report and logs.
I have notice some interesting thing.
hw.nvidia.cards.0.vbios: 60.84.18.00.08
with 180.60 drivers and
hw.nvidia.cards.0.vbios: ??.??.??.??.??
with 185.X drivers. Before my problem occurred (spontaneous rebooting after command portinstall :) ) I have used drivers of version 185.18.31.
