Is anyone else having problems with the full screen PAL TV Out on their GeForce 4 Ti4600 card whenever trying to use any of the drivers released after 41.09?

Even WHQL tested drivers break my TV out. I have a Leadtek card with a Conexant CX25871 TV encoder chip, using PAL (I, G, none work) output with the full screen TV overscan option turned on (in drivers, not using TV Tool or anything).

Basically on whatever rendering surface used (overlay or VMR) as soon as the card switches from the desktop clone setting to showing a video, the screen just loses the picture and wavy lines go everywhere, no colour, no image, just almost random lines built up of bits of the image.

When dropping the resolution on the TV out to 640x480 the video will work but will only show the top left part of the image. I have tried an updated BIOS too, nothing works.

I don't have any problems with 41.09 or below, but would like to install the new drivers for the enhanced DX9 support, etc. Is there any way to report this to nVidia? I have tried Leadtek but their support form never manages to work right and loses my message. Is there any workaround known?

Dude, i have the exact same problem with a pny geforce ti4600. I'm sticking with the 41.09 for the time being. Does anyone know if tv out works proparly on newer cards with detonators above 41.09?

Could you go into your nVidia control panel and on the nVidia banner at the top it should list the TV Encoder type. If you can post what that is and what type of output you're trying to use (NTSC or PAL I/G whatever)?

On the NV34 (FX5200), NTSC out works fine--I'd try PAL, but I have nothing to try it on. Sorry.

I have the same chip as you craigl a Conexant CX25871 and i've tried the various PAL B/D/G/H/I settings. For me tv out, with newer than 41.09 drivers, only work when i'm at the desktop and when watching a realmedia movie. Every other thing i try i just get the same wavy lines as you.

Hmmm.. I wonder.. is the Conexant CX25871 a standard chip used for virtually all other Ti4600s or is this only used in European (mostly PAL) versions of cards or something?

radman, what TV are you outputting it to? S-Video or composite connection? Do you have the drivers set so it doesn't show the black border on the TV out and what resolution are you running the TV at?

I'm using a s-video connection to a PAL tv. And yes i'm using the "movie" setting, no black edges, at 1024x768. If i have the time i'll grab the latest detonators and try to play around with some settings to see if it works. Specifically i haven't tried to lower the resolution and change the connection type. I'll try it later today.

I've tried both 44.71 and 44.90 and tv out does not work in all cases. Movie files work fine but dvds don't. Alot of games work but some don't like in UT2003 and BF1942 i get the wavy lines. Since i play all my dvds though tv out i have reverted to 41.09. I'll have to try 42.86 and 44.65 when i get a chance.
