Problems using both NICs

I first installed RedHat 9 with a single on board nic (3com) with no problems. After I configured everything to the way I wanted I then installed the nvnet driver so I could use the second nic for my internal LAN. Everything works fine until I try to shutdown Linux, or deactive the first nic (3com, eth0), then the shutdown or deactivate will hang forever, shutdown or deactivate will never happen. The confusing part is that this did not happen on eth0 until I installed the nvnet driver on eth1.

Any ideas ?

Sorry about the lack of details .. I was in the wrong forum when I posted this.. thought it was an asus specific forum. The MB is an asus a7n8x DLX.

I'm having difficulties with the integrated LAN of the Shuttle SN41G2 and RH9. I've been reading a lot of posts about problems with NForce2's integrated LAN and RH9. I hope there's a solution.
