Well I definitely couldn't say they will or won't support it for the next generation of GPUs, but if they are going to the trouble of making it work on the current GPU it shouldn't be that big of an issue to bring it over to the next gen. It would seem silly for them to try an idea like that and only do it on 1 card.

Take the 7900GX2 for example. They made their first dual gpu card and it wasn't a very good card. They tried again with the 9800GX2 and still didn't get the combination correct. Finally on their 3rd attempt with the GTX 295 they had a card that didn't seem to have the issues that plagued the first two cards.

But we are relying on evga, not nvidia to pull all of these theories off.
I don't like that, and don't trust that they will maintain interest to offer next gen support when it comes out.

Well put it this way, 4 cards are always going to be faster than 1. Even if Nvidia came out with a new card that was as fast as 4 GTX 285 someone is going to want something faster than that. If they can afford 4 GTX 285s then they will buy 4 GTX 380s when they come out.

...or put it to use with workstations. When ever something like this is announced people always seem to forget the workstation market where they probably really can put something like this to good use.

Man they cant even get 2-way sli working 100% :headexplode:

Nvidia SLi works more times than not compared to XFire of any kind.

Do you think it's aimed at workstation user's?. I don't know.

I want 6-way SLI ,three-way just is'nt cutting it.I would rather them make it with multiple GPU's and be able to use all the memory of all the cards.

I'm pretty sure he said he got a discount. But nothing was free. Still he gets his hardware before any of us mere mortals.

I get mine for free straight from Nvidia ;) Two single PCB 295s should be here this week although one is for a charity build we are doing. They already sent me two of the dual PCB ones as well. Palit gave me three 280s before they moved out of the US market so I am doing well for GPUS ;) The only downside is they I only get units after release date.

If you do not have water-cooled for 4-way-sli, it can replace the heating in winter
hahahahaha
