Hi, I got a geforce card, no brainer, people say that there is more feature available on the Nvidia Geforce tab on " Right click desktop, settings tab, advanced button, and go to the GeForce tab and additional settings". But I only got three options! Which is " Device Selection, Color Correction, and Overlay Controls". Oh yeah, my geforce is GeForce 4 MX 440. Even though I updated the driver on the latest version, I still did not get those extra features, with the antialising stuff. I followed these instructions,

http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=IO_20011120_4051

And did not get those features. Please help! ^_^. Thanks everyone for yer timez.

Can you post a screenshot of exactly what your advanced display properties look like?

Alrighty, now that you have the 44.10 drivers downloaded and all the files extracted to a folder on your desktop, you may do the following:

1) Shut down your computer and boot it into Safe Mode. Usually this is done by hitting the F8 key at your machine's BIOS screen or just before you see the Windows XP splash screen.

2) Let the machine boot into safe mode, when the dialogue box pops up asking if you want to continue working in safe mode, select "Yes"

3) Once in safe mode, use the control panel/add remove programs to uninstall the NVIDIA Windows 2000/XP display drivers. The uninstaller will do its thing and when it asks you to reboot, do it.

4) When your machine reboots, Windows may or may not automatically install its default driver. If it does, let the wizard do its thing. If it pops up the add hardware wizard, cancel out of it. Windows will complain to you about the hardware not being installed properly...ignore it.

5) Go into your device manager (right click my computer, properties, under the hardware tab). You'll see a listing for either a) Standard PCI VGA display adapter or b) NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 400 (Microsoft Corporation). Highlight that entry and click properties, then click "update driver"

6) You'll want to select to install the software yourself. Point the wizard to the directory where you extracted the driver files and the file nv4_disp.inf. Once you select it, your video card should pop up automatically. Pick it, ignore anything Windows says about the driver not being digitally signed. The files will then copy. Restart your computer when prompted and you should be done.

It did not work, I update and then do it my self and clicked where I extracted the file which the name of the folder was win-xp-2k-4410, but it says The wizard could not find a better match for your hardware than the software you currently have installed.

What I did is that you said go to HARDWARE tab and look to my left, and clicked display adapters and my video card name slides down and clicked on it and update driver and when I did what you said, that message came up.

Are the drivers you are using the nvidia reference drivers? Or are they from a vendor? Try using the nvidia reference drivers from nvidia.com.

That's the chipset brand, not the card brand. nvidia doesn't sell cards, they sell chipsets to board manufacturers. Who, in turn, sell you a card.

I have to say since I isntalled the 44.65's I seem to have lost the ability to alter the digital vibrance setting. I cant find it anywhere in the driver panels.. :(

Nutty- They show for me at the top of the color correction tab. The tabs do look a little different than before 44.65 though... Only reg changes I made was coolbits.

This one's easy.: PEBKAC.

Following the directions Saturnotaku should take care of everything, just make sure that you follow them exactly. I haven't learned my way around the new Detonator FX menu system yet, so I can't be of much precise help. From what I understand of your responses, I'm not quite sure whether or not you have decompressed the driver archive before pointing Windows to it.

The advice you've been given is top notch; if it keeps giving you problems, your next step might be to look here for help (http://www.satirewire.com/features/siliconpines/acf.shtml). Best of luck.

Honestly? Yes I did and I'll tell you why.

First and foremost, I'm not in front of your computer so I can't tell exactly what you're doing wrong. I don't think I could have explained the process any more clearly in my post above and I feel trying to explain it further would be a waste of both our times. This is why I suggested in the other thread you posted (which is a forum no-no by the way) that you find a friend who is more computer savvy who could sit down at your machine and figure out what's wrong.

This whole thing reminds me very much of the 3 years I spent in tech support at my university. We had to create a special position for students who would go out in person to help folks with their problems because too many times we would be on the phone with people for 20 minutes at a time trying to solve their problems. That's not good when you're taking calls on virtually a continuous basis.

I dont have a color correction tab anymore tho.. Only

Performance & Quality
Overlay Controls
Clock Frequencies
NVRotate

maybe I need to reinstall them, or clear out old driver crap..

:(

Don't y'all have a sticky-thread somewhere explaining how to install/un-install nVidia drivers in XP/9x? If not y'all probably should..... ;)

But it's self-explanatory in so many ways. And Sat just kinda did it for us right there. ;)

Thank you. I mean if there's something I might have left out, by all means please add it. :)

Lol, I think me and him have the same problem, I only see

Device Selection
Color Correction
Overlay Controls
Clock Frequencies

When I updated my 41.06 to 41.09, nothing happened, but when I updated it to 41.10, it added Clock Frequencies, that made me wonder if there is a specific driver to install to get all the other features, like the AA and etc...

I don't know what brand it is, my card was already intergrated to this computer already.
