Should have been free...

PC gamers really need to get over this everything should be free kick.

Seriously Velvet. It should be free. I mean I downloaded the game for free from TPB, why shouldn't the DLC be free too.

(I'm kidding BTW, I bought my FEAR2 full price... Well it was 50% off, plus I used a 40 voucher. I paid $10 in the end... ::bleh:: )

Well I don't think it should be free, but I don't necessarily think gamers should just pay for something without thinking much about the content, it's not good for the industry imo.

I thought FEAR 2 was decidedly mediocre and didn't have anywhere near the same impact as FEAR 1 (Graphically and gameplay wise) so I don't particularly want more mediocrity.

I liked it and 10 is reasonable. Especially when other DLC can go for upwards of 20-30AUD (I'm looking at you The Force Unleashed)

How long is the DLC in any case? 4 levels but are they lengthy?

I bought it and beat it last night. Took me about an hour to go through it on Normal, and I felt it was almost completely lacking in atmosphere and environments, except for one part where you travel through a tipped over building. Kind of regret buying it now, but it was only $10, but I would have liked something meatier. Each Fallout 3 DLC had much more content for the same price I felt.

..and thats why paid DLC doesnt fly on the PC. It usually sucks. DLC needs to be free, let the console gamers pay for it.

Just downloaded :)

An hour is not that bad if you think about it. Most games are about 5 hours, and cost $50, $10 an hour.

Yes it is

I have about 400 times that for 4 times the cost on L4D. Add The Witcher in and I have no life away from my puter, all for around 70 bucks. :D

Most games are about 5 hours

Which is a bit sad, because a couple years ago this statement would have been "Most games are 10 hours". :( Oh well, I guess they can't afford to make them like they use to with graphics complexity these days.

What a joke. Compare that to full DL games like Shadow Complex which costs about the same... No thanks...

I thought it might have been closer to 2-3 ::(:

As I was getting towards the end of the DLC (which I didn't know at the time), I was thinking that I should just quit after the next save point and call it a night...and then I hit the final cutscene and the credits started rolling. I beat the game before the charge for it even showed up on my credit card.

Well L4D is a totally different game.

Actually L4D single player campaign is actually probably about just a couple of hours! But throw in the MP and it changes the game.

I have played it over an hour already and am on Interval 4 of 8... depends how you play I guess.

And FEAR 2 is a linear shooter, those are always on the short end of videogames. This DLC is probably 1/5th the content of the main game and is 1/5th the price.

Or in other terms, it is a 3rd of an expansion, at a 3rd of expansion price. 2 x 3 = 6... did anyone spend more than 6 hours on Extraction Point?
