I'm getting a message on the drive detection page of my BIOS. that the cable on IDE channel 1 is not an 80 conductor cable. I thought that the only cable that needed to be 80 is the one for the HDs, but I'm using a round cable for them, that I have always used, without this problem, though I'm not sure how to ID it's count one way or the other. The optical drives are connected via the lesser count cables, but I thought that was sufficient, and since they are connected to the secondary IDE connector on the MB, I figured that would be IDE channel 1 anyway. Besides playing a game of musical chairs with the cables, is there a more precise way of sorting this out?
