I gotta swap out my GF4 which isn't really my GF4 anymore as I SHOULD have mailed it out this morning but ended up playing under a sprinkler for a few hours instead. (Nice weather + kids = FUN! :D I'm very sorry for the delay sonaboy, I'll have it boxxed tonight and out tomorrow...mebbe I'll overnight it out of guilt. ;) )

I have the 9000 Pro in a loaner box that a friend has 'til I can fix his POS 'puter, so until I get it back I have either the Rage Fury or the V5.

I played with the V5 a little on Bubbles and it was neat, but I put the GF3 back in awful quick. The Rage128 I am damn near tempted to go with out of strict sentimental value. Not only was it the first "real" video card I actually researched before buying (SHUT UP! ;) ) but it was Blue's second video card after the Xpert98 so it almost seems apprapo. :)

Which do you think would be better for a multi-media web-cruiser/little bit-o-fun playing with a nostalgia card in a (comparatively) fast-as-hell CPU for it?

Please vote & feel free to comment, I got drivers for both cards ready and am just waiting 'til after I put the kids to bed to rip into it. (about 4-5 hours from now, but I gotta be done before the wife gets home about 2 hours after that. )

Any opinions are appreciated, me thanks in advance.

(Again, sorry for the delay sonaboy...I gotta keep me priorities straight though. ;) )

definetly the Voodoo5... pair that up with a fast CPU and do some UT1 benchs you'll be very impressed with the performance ;)

GLIDE is fun

1628 onions in 3dm2k1se with the V5 in Blue (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=6674002).

daym thats low, my mx400 gets nearly twice that score. I was getting almost that score on my mx400 when I had a 504MHz celeron

Voodoo5, Voodoo5!

It ain't that great a card, but it's certainly better than a Rage Fury. Too bad you don't have a Voodoo3, or else I'd say to use that. :D

It sounds dumb, but I hated the fact that walk & run had a different key rather than being able to bind run to the shift key.

Honest, I just never really found a binding set-up that I liked...the learning curve was too steep for me interests at the time.

I promise I'll go back and play it, I turned a couple of people onto that game who absolutely FLIPPED over it and turned into fanatics about it and I feel real stupid for never having played it. (Hi Klutz! ;) )

Ok, I'm REALLY leaning towards the V5 now..

Dont feel bad, I just didnt like that game at ALL!

I love first person RPGs(Daggerfall, Morrowind, Deus Ex, Arx Fatalis), but I just did NOT enjoy that game in the least bit. I played the demo. Thought it was kinda cool. Bought the game (for $20). Got really annoyed with it (because it just fealt so damned clunky) so I returned it. I downloaded the demo again last year and didnt even complete that... I just dont like that game, I dont know why

I had VSA-100-based cards and they were pants compared to my Voodoo3 3000. Again, that's just based on my own experience. Your mileage probably will vary.

Makes me wish I had a second machine on which I could run a 3dfx card paired with Win 98. That combo couldn't be beat. :D

this is sad how slow voodoo cards are, even my geforce4mx400 badly beats that v5 5500. I had a voodoo3 1000 and my tnt was as fast
