Nice to see the mainstream Juniper with 1GB GDDR5 memories

Juniper XT is Radeon HD 5770 and Juniper LE is HD 5750

While all eyes are on the Radeon HD 5800 "Cypress" series, there is another series quietly brewing beneath AMD which NVIDIA should be really afraid of. It is targeted at the mainstream market which is no doubt the most important segment for both camps.
Juniper XT and LE will be officially named Radeon HD 5770 and Radeon HD 5750 respectively when launched. HD 5770 card is codenamed Countach while HD 5750 is codenamed Corvette and they both come with 1GB GDDR5 memories on 128-bit memory interface. Juniper will possess all the features of its higher end counterpart like 40nm, DX11, Eyefinity technology, ATI Stream, UVD2, GDDR5 and best of all, it is going to be very affordable.
One of the reason why AMD is not mass producing Radeon HD 4700 (RV740) series now is because HD 5700 series will be replacing it soon and will come one month after HD 5800 series. It will meet head on against the NVIDIA's D10P1 (GT215) series in October so expect a full fledge war then. With a performance target of 1.6x over the HD 4770 and 1.2x over the HD 4750, they are surely packed with enough power to pit against the NVIDIA's lineup. Pair them up and you will get a boost of 1.8x which is roughly the performance of a Cypress card.

if these are are just a bit faster than the current crop of 4850's and 70's..
they will be some sick cards!
Very nice, I really like that even a lower end card still shares many specifications with their faster family members. 1 GGDR5 is very nice, and compensates nicely for the 128-bit memory bus. Does 128-bit + 1 GDDR5 equals to a card with a 384-bit bus?
Anyway, they look great, looking forward to read more info about them.

It will be very interesting to see where these end up performance wise. My oc'd 4770 already beats a 4850 so I'm guessing around 4870 levels which will be fantastic.

I want to hear more specifics on the prices, beyond just "very affordable"
although that's a good start xD

GT215 will have very short lifespan when it hit retail until GT310.
I didn't see it posted yet, but there is some additional info about the HD 5770/HD5750, including prices.
http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1451045&page=4
The HD 5770 (800 SP) will retail for $ 159 while a 1GB HD 5750 (720 SP) will sell for $ 129.
The HD 5770 has an idle power draw of around 18W and a maximum draw of 108W.
The HD 5750 has an idle power draw of around 16W and a maximum draw of 86W.
The cards look nice on paper. Interestingly, there is now a gap in price and performance between the HD 5770 and the HD 5850. They may add an additional card (With maybe around 1100/1200 SP and priced around $ 199) to fill the gap in the future.
Brent Justice from Hardocp has a HD 5770 (And maybe a HD 5750 too) and made these remarks. He's under NDA until 13 october though.
^ those performance estimates are low
I think you guys will be pleasantly surprised
All I know is how the cards perform in games, and I'm impressed with the results. It was better than I thought it would be. Can't really say anymore than that until the launch next week. Stay tuned to [H] for all your gaming hardware goodness, I've got a lot of neat things planned to test this month.
Personally I think the HD 5750 will perform around the level of a HD 4870 and a HD 5770 pretty close to a HD 4890.

The 5750 at $100 seems like one hell of a deal.

The memory bandwidth should limit it a fair bit for high res, high LOD but overall for people with smaller screens, it should be a nice card :)
I am thinking of migrating my older AMD card to my HTPC when I buy my next card. Just waiting for nvidia to do the needful :D
where is the 58702gb in AUS :(
Someone have gotten the HD5770.
vertex_shader:
I got Crysis:Warhead for the weekend, used this tool for testing, its need to be registered to run the benchmarks with more loop, AFAIR its needed in Crysis, so take the minimum frame with a grain of salt

Those cards are a superb deal in this price/performance segment
the power usage is really impressive for the performance it gives out...wonder if they can get it on a laptop...

Supposedly leaked HD 57** slides. The source was Czech ExtraHardware (http://www.extrahardware.cz/radeony-hd-5700-specifikace-oficialne) site. But the images are now removed.

But cereal- preferably oatmeal. Those cards look decent for the price. Now we just need nVidia to show what they go. :)
