Oh nvm then, everyone was talking about the new 5 series cards from ATi with DX11, but I never heard anything from nvidia side of things.

Have no fear. The GT300 is a DX11 card. :)

It's not logical to think NVIDIA is doing a complete re-design of their graphics core if they're not going to add some new features, at least I think if they were to release another DX10/.1 part they would have just worked their way with the GT200 core, shrinking it with the new process and just adding more SPs, but that would have not served them well against the new DX11 parts from ATI

OFFICIAL: NVIDIA says GT300 on schedule for Q4 2009, yields are fine.

computerbase.de also published an article about that today. They also unofficially confirmed the end of November, probably the 27th, release. They have official info but are under a NDA of course.

Hell yeah! There aren't that many games than can use all that power but it's so damn time for a GPU upgrade :D

Both brightsideofnews and computerbase.de use this Fudzilla article (http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/15689/1/)"Senior manager from Nvidia has told Fudzilla" as source.

In the same article Fuad said:
According to AMD’s competitive analysis team, only nine chips should work per wafer, but they got this number due to a bad translation and we can definitely dismiss this number as completely inaccurate information.
I think Fuad is completely loosing it, since when is Charlie "AMD’s competitive analysis team"

The November 27th date the other sites are quoting, was only Fuad speculation in another article (http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/15688/34/). Since when is speculation NDA.

Today Fuad is reporting GT300 is codenamed Fermi (http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/15713/1/) (Named after a nuclear reactor) :)
The chip should be ready for very late 2009 launch

All insiders can say whatever they want but there is usually a certain patern prior to new card launch. It usually takes 2-3 after you see a card spy shot before in launches.
Until I see some pics of the GT300 I'm not getting my hopes up!

The important part in the CB article is the last paragraph. Not the rumors above that...

"competitive analysis team" in this case is a polite term for "shill"

The point was AMD's, even if it was a shill the translation had nothing to do with AMD, even Charlie didn't suggest it.

HardOCP Kyle Bennett Post (http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1034667865&postcount=362)
I personally think that NVIDIA's GT300 will not see the light of a retail shelf for 4 to 6 months.

Here is Kyle reply (http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1034673723&postcount=388) after somebody sugested he is getting his info from douchebag Charlie.
No I am not. I am taking my information from people that have tremendously stable working relationships with TSMC.

Are you getting head from a transvestite hooker with AIDS that banged your Mom after she smoked a crack rock with your little sister?

AMD claims it will be six months before GT300 launches (http://www.v3.co.uk/v3/news/2250031/cards-amd-choice-directx)(popcorn)

With the GT300 already tapped out I doubt it will take that long to ship. Bad yields usually don't stay low for that long. Sounds more like FUD to me.

You're funny. You realize that it's classic FUD when someone makes a statement like that without providing any explanation. I will asume you were not serious.;) ...I'm refering to AMD statement BTW.

I find that hard to believe. I can't think how Nvidia would drop the ball by that much. At the latest i would expect to see the cards is January. I would be shocked if it is later than that.

Well actually, January would have been 4 months, either way, its hard to really say when they will be out, despite prefering nvidia myself, im not even sure if the cards being released in December is right, to me it doesnt matter when they come out, just not enough info right now.
I do, however, hope its not 4-6 months, as I was planning to build my new computer in December(plus I love benchmarks)

As I said January would be the absolute latest. Any later and it is a disaster IMO. I do still hold out hope we will have them in the next 2 months though.

Nvidia quietness is usual. I am beginning to think the GT300 is much more then a GPU, well a very special GPU. How much more advancement has Nvidia made with branch prediction? is it much more cpu capable like?

A complete ground up build, hmmm G80 was awesome in it's day of release and real usable GPU computing was born, what is next? Has Nvidia beat AMD to the punch - FUSION. While ATI's new Rady's sell like hotcakes with new ones being built as fast as possible and an expanding menu where all price points will be covered by Nov/Dec, usually the biggest selling time of the year except maybe in this lack lusty world economy and Nvidia is quiet!

Really in the scheme of things, 6 months, if Nvidia has a knock out ball in the last inning or scoring the touch down in overtime they still can win being leaders in what they do. ATI or more exactly AMD do know how to compete and how to stay alive, in this economy pushing out Nvidia, their only real competition for their Graphics department in market shares maybe worth while in the discreet graphics market but Nvidia has a very wide market now so Nvidia in the end can still do great even if they are #2 in discreet graphics.

The rumor I would like to start is GT300 is Fusion, hehe Fermi is good name for this since first controllable Fission reaction used this name. A complete processor for processing ANY KIND OF DATA. Now if Nvidia would only buy Amiga Corp and restart the Amiga computing experience :p. It would be great to have another plateform for computing fresh from all the extra baggage that comes with PCs and less so with Macs. I wouldn't be surprised in the end when a number of big folks have their mouths and jaws drop wide open when GT300 hits the world scene.
