I just can make up my mind if I should go with the 5900 or the 5900 Ultra.

Any suggestions? I want to keep it at least a year, roughly.

I'm looking only at the eVGA 5900 Ultra with 256MB RAM and VIVO. However, I am an old, upwardly-mobile professional, and get a good discount at the eVGA online store.

OK, I have good discount at the eVGA online store whenever eVGA bothers to stock their own website. One can invent the URL for the product page if one knows the 5900 Ultra part number (as shown on newegg.com). however, one can't actually put a 5900 Ultra in one's cart. http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?Part_Number=256-A8-N328-AX

Right now all eVGA 5900 Ultras appear to be going to newegg for a $60 markup ($559 USD, limit 5 per customer!). http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?description=14-130-153

Personally I'm not paying retail for the bleeding edge this time. My 5800 Ultra will have to hold me over until I can use my eVGA discount.

YMMV.

If it was just them two to pick from then I would go for the FX5900 Ultra 256mb.Since it seems to run faster then the 128mb version and in future games the 256mb will probally help in FSAA and aniso.

I would go with the eVGA, but I'm not paying $559.00

When MSRP Should be @ 499.00

I'll wait awhile if I have to, but I'm getting tired of waiting.

I noticed axiontech offer tradein, maybe they will accept your videocard tradein for EVGA 5900 Ultra for less than $496.95. Maybe $400 if you trade your 4600 or so. ;)
