5870X2 in the flesh!

I really don't care about your friend experience, I have my own.
So no idea why are you telling about your friend problems.

Same here, I have had very few problems with my 4870x2 and I will probably go multiGPU again. The performance boost I got when moving from my Q6600 to the i7 has helped too.

Currently the only game I'm not satisfied with is Need for Speed Shift, it looks like multiGPU is not working at all, but there is a new beta driver that could fix it, will try it this weekend.

Sometimes I have had to wait a couple of weeks for a CrossFireX profile (Mirror's Edge comes to mind) but nothing major.

I usualy wont bring up ATI stuff too often but I will say my experience with two computers running 4870x2s has been great. I have had no issues running anything ive ever tried to play. I hope your friend dosnt give you too much advice if so id change your bs filter.

Lol K guy. I'm telling you I have seen multiple problems in current games with xfire. If they work for you then that's awesome, but for me it's too much bs to deal with.

One of my friends has a 4870x2 and its turned him away from dual gpu cards for ever. I won't buy one after seeing all the issues his has had.my 4870x2 and GTX295 been working great! zero issues here:o

Honestly, i am a little disappointed with the 5870's performance, I was expecting it to outperform the GTX295, but its slower in most tests and slightly faster in others, its still a hell of alot cheaper then a GTX295, so its worth it, but I was still hoping for something clearly faster :/
(I personally dont care about price, ill be getting the fastest single-card I can, prolly in Jan 2010)

Do you realise that the 295 consists of two graphics cards? Do you realise that in a lot of benchmarks the 5870x2 will beat the 295 by 2x? How is that disappointing? Its almost twice as fast.

It does beat it, or get close in some benchmarks. I imagine it will get better with new drivers. If you look at the 4870 at launch and it's performance today I'd say on avg its probably 15% higher with the newest drivers.
