nice price. I would offer it at ~85 per 8800 gtx. I doubt people will buy them together. people will be getting it for physx

if some dbag comes in here telling you adding 3% is against paypals TOU, tell him to stick his head in a sewer, that's his home.

his name is Magus and his hobby is being a frugal bitch.

Trouble is you can get a GTX260 for that now which is almost as powerful as 8800GTX's in SLI. These would make superb PhysX cards, though I think you'll have to drop em a bit further :). 2 years is a life time in this game.

2X 8800GTX are in most cases more powerful then a GTX 285...

I have a GTX 285 in another machine and for most games the 2x 8800gtx's are faster, not by much, but faster in Frames Per Second.

lol revs is right. 8800gtx in sli is just slightly better than gtx260. It's no where near the performance of a 285.

I agree, but no-one is gonna pay the price of a new card for two older cards of half the power. I'm gonna be selling my GTX260's in a couple of months, but I'm only too aware that I'll be lucky to get 100 for them both, and that's a current card.

I'm sure if you sell them singley you'll have no probs getting rid, but you'll have to ask a realistic price, as hard as that is to swallow after spending so much :o.

BUMP! :)

What the ****. You guys don't go on ebay commenting on all the ads critiquing their price their do you?

If you have issue with the price, send a PM. These For Sale threads should have 2 posts from beginning to completion. The posting of the item, and the post saying they sold it.

Keep your opinions in PMs

When have you last tested 8800GTX in SLI vs a 285?

I have it right in front of me...

BTW for Company Of Heroes a single 285 is way slower then the SLI 8800GTX's and much slower then my older 8800GT's in SLI.

A single 285 is faster in RE5 then the 2 8800GTX's

2 8800GTX are faster then a 285 in Batman.

So all in all it is a close match. (so $175 vs ~ $300.00 isn't that bad.)

Right now I have:

2 X 8800GT's

2 X 8800GTX's

2 X GTX 285's

Have 2 gaming machines

Keeping 1 GTX 285 and 1 8800GT (physx) per machine.

I'm not fighting anyone, just want to make sure the facts are straight.

If I don't sell no big deal, I'll have left over parts for another gaming pc... lol.

9800 GX2 is slower then 2 8800GTX in SLI...

Very much like the 295 is slower then 2 X 280/285's in SLI.

Where is the 9800 GX2 compaired to the GTX285? hum... I hope people get their facts straight before posting... lol. :)

All in the name of fun.

Yeh Sowk, it definetly is a very powerful setup. Peronsally I'd love to pick these up for my old amd rig that I'm keeping at home but with a recent death of that Fatal1ty A8N-sli motherboard kind of kills that dream. Good luck finding a good home for the cards.

uhh the gtx285 performs better in most higher graphically demanding games or higher AA at higher resolutions.
funny how you don't post the other side of the picture.
and to just prove it i'll post the link you just posted, except the page before with higher resolution and 4xAA
http://www.guru3d.com/article/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-vga-graphics-performance-review/6

note: i'm not trying to threadcrap or say your price is bad or anything, i'm just not agreeing with your point of 8800gtx being the almighty graphic card in sli.

The Gloves are off!!!! lol. j/k

First off the 9800 gx2 is biased off the 256bit memory bus killing its performance at super extreme resolutions and any available levels of AA.

If you didn't read my post earlier about the 8800GTX's in SLI performing better then the 9800GX2, it is primarily because they use a higher memory bus and doesn't have the same killed performance in extreme tests.
(Don’t you just hate people that actually know what their talking about… lol) Also... Do you really think any serious PC gamer at this point with a 30" LCD is still running anything but GTX 280+ cards is SLI?

I don't have a 30" monitor at that resolution. Do you?

I know my 50” Kuro Elite 111 only runs 1920X1080, but will blow away any computer display regardless of its current resolution. ;)
