Anyone got an original 360 from release day still working?

My first one died around 10 or 11 months into its life and i am now on my 6th unit which is an Elite.

If you havnt got an original 360 how many have you been through?

I've been through 3 elites. None of which lasted more than 7 months.
I gave up, because i'm NOT paying to have the POS fixed so it can die again.

I went with a PS3 instead.

I am still on my launch unit, but that is probably because I rarely even turn it on.

Believe it or not my friend has a launch unit that's still working. He's in Germany now though and I don't know how much he plays it. It may have died since I last saw him, he left Summer '08.

I bought the original halo edition. Still chugging along.

I don't have my launch unit, but I know it still works, as I sold it to a friend when the Elite came out.

My 2nd, an Elite, still works.

I know the 360 sucks in reliability, but I kind of wonder how some people can go through 6 units and others only 1 or 2. Seems like user issues might play a role there, no offense to anyone.

My launch unit tried to get out of the three year warranty before failing, but failed. The replacement unit lasted a couple months before getting a non-rrod issue which they replaced on the three year warranty. My second replacement unit has been working fine ever since.

My second 360 (yes I have two), hasn't had a single problem, but it doesn't get used much.

probably room temp, but still selling such a defective device should get them in more trouble.

Indeed.

My point was more some people are not treating the 360 as the fragile POS it is, so they get more failures. It is still the fault design from MS that is the problem.

On my 3rd.

1st - (360 Pro) Lied to BestBuy so I can get Elite (after price cut)
2nd- (360 Elite) RROD'ed, returned to BestBuy for 360 Pro w/ 120GB from dead Elite on same day (got a bit over $100 credit :D)
Current- (360 Pro w/ 120GB) Running great.

360 is a great console, but poor built. I'm one of people who is a clean freak and handles thing gently. I refuse to have my 360 sent to Microsoft so I buy 2 year replacement plan with BestBuy so I can get brand new console instead with new revision build.

I'm on my 2nd 360.

1st 360 - Got on launch (September 2005 I believe)
Died in April 2008

I've been on a 360 "Arcade" unit since then (use my old 360 hard drive on it). I don't play it that often, so I don't expect it to break.

I guess mine's what you'd call a walking dead as I've conjured it back to life three times already.

On my 2nd. First died a few months back playing Mass Effect. I've now started selling off games and getting them on PC. Pity Mass Effect was so popular, it's worth next to nothing on the 2nd hand games market. ::(:

Somehow Final Fantasy 7 is worth a ton of cash on ebay, despite being printed like a billion times.

Maybe I can sell FF7 since it's brand new and black label. :D

Brand new in black label is like $400.

Mine still works from launch. The cd-rom drive has acted up a bit recently, but I haven't turned it on in a couple months.

2nd 360 here. My first died after I kept opening it and closing it to modify the skin a bunch. I also bent and stretched the motherboard beyond repair.

My 2nd one is going strong. I bought one of the newer GPU heatsinks and x-clamp fixed both CPU and GPU and applied arctic silver grease just as I got it. It hasn't given me any problems since.
