Artest will destroy the Lakers, nuff said. He'll headbutt Kobe in the locker room lol. Odom will play like he's on drugs because of the Kardashian chick. Oh wait, he always plays like that lol.
Shaq says he's done but he'll demand the ball everytime he goes low post. Good thing Lebron isn't a ballhog.
KG will probably not be his old 2008 self. It's up to Pierce and Ray Ray now. Again.
Vince Carter will blossom under Van Gundy's system. Dwight will now have a freer lane because VC is a decent midrange and 3 point shooter.
The Raptors will still suck. Same as the Knicks.

The Memphis Grizzlies will be the most exciting basketball team in the NBA.
.... even if they do lose every game. :D

I just hope Blake Griffin isn't destroyed in the Clippers system before he has a chance to blossom.

He will be fine as long as he leaves as soon as he has the option (or contract expires)...
@ Retrolock - Artest has matured. Will he still be a hot head? Probably, but only against the other team. He has ALWAYS wanted to play in LA...He will help the Lakers play more physical, something that Ariza could not do...

Ariza was good at cheap fouls. But not as good as Artest, of course.

He had a great last couple of seasons in Houston and Sacramento in terms of leadership and numbers.
He can contribute all over the place and if we know anything about the Lakers, they will distribute. Kobe will get his and Gasol and Lamar will score from their spots but if they can get a guy like Artest to shoot the 3 and drive to the hole and score or create, it's over for the rest of the league.
How do you think Cleveland will fair with the Shaq?

I think Shaq will help against teams that can't challenge him in the paint, thus opening up Lebron a bit. Really depends on how Lebron and Shaq can gel together (2 very large egos)...

People still watch the NBA?
Too much like baseball to me. Just too many games played for me to have any interest.

You think Lebron has a large ego?
I don't agree with his etiquette at the end of some games but when he is playing, he gives up the ball for a better shot a lot of the time. He shares a lot more than most super-stars in the league and does what he can to make the team win.
I disagree with him being anointed the chosen one and all that other PR crap but, I don't think there will be a problem with him sharing the ball when on the court because at the end of the day, he wants to win.

But Lebron has never played with another Star that my or may not want the basketball more than Lebron is used to. Shaq says he won't demand the ball, and maybe he won't. But it was friction between 2 superstars that cause Shaq to leave LA...(I blame Kobe and Shaq equally, after hearing both sides of the story)...

Shaq has also matured and gotten older and had his skills deteriorate since he left LA.
He played well enough in Miami for 2 years and played quite well in Phoenix, even though Amare was too stupid to figure out how to pass to Shaq (hence why it was so refreshing to see Shaq show Amare just how it's done when Amare went down).
Given the attention likely to be shown to Lebron and given the existing perimeter shooting that the Cavs have, as well as 2-3 good rebounders in at any given time (pick between big Z, Andy V, Lebron and Shaq), they will be tough to guard and pose a few more matchup problems than last year.
Orlando looks great on paper, pending Carter's play. The Lakers made a major upgrade and kept the big pieces, plus Bynum should mature further. Boston has Garnett back and I think this is the last season they can afford to keep the big 3 together so they should be hungry. Denver is mostly unchanged and Portland looks dangerous too. The Wizards will have Agent 0 back as well and Utah will be healthy. And remember the Hornets? They have that Chris Paul dude :)
3-4 teams from either conference can potentially win the championship this year and that's what will make it great :D

Lakers look to be unstoppable. Their bench is better than half the teams out there.
Boston has Garnett again, and look how well they did without him last year. Perkins is solid, Davis will mature, Daniels was a great pickup. And..SHEED!
Gotta watch out for the Spurs. They added a great looking rookie, Richard Jefferson, and the big 3 are healthy for the time being. I've always like McDyess.
I'm not too sure about Cleveland...big Shaq fan, but I don't see how him being in the lane helps Lebron with his game. Same with Portland. I enjoyed them last year, but Andre Miller might have some problems with the coaching.
I've been a Clippers fan for over a decade. After checking them out during the preseason...I am very, very excited. At the very least, they'll be fun to watch.

The Spurs are the most improved team in the NBA.
Not only because of their pickups of Blair and Jefferson, but because they "improved" by no injuries.

I think they will get close to the playoffs and get picked off. Again. I'm hoping that they will go all the way, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Shaq is too old and too injury prone. His best days are behind him.

Ginobli and Duncan are likely to miss playing time again this year. They are both getting creakier as they get older.
I am interested to see how RJ will play defense as he has never been considered a defensive stopper.
Entertaining game between the Heat and the Lakers and Wade and Kobe knocked down key shots at the end and Kobe finally knocked down a lucky fade-away, going sideways from the 3 point line and won it lol.
At least he admitted it was a lucky shot :D Miami deserved to win after their 4th quarter play but, they just couldn't knock those freethrows down.
But a very entertaining game regardless. And it was nice to see Jermaine O'Neal continuing to impress :) I am very happy for him to see him back and healthy and contributing.

I can't see anyone beating the Lakers in a 7 game series.

Boston perhaps. They have some bigs who can cause problems. I would even throw Denver out there as they also have bigs and they have Carmelo.
Cleveland? I am not so sure about.
What will be interesting is what happens before the trade deadline. If some contender picks up Al Harrington for example, if the Suns get another big, if Orlando gets another guard and so forth.
I just want to see some competitive games in the playoffs, like Boston/Chicago last year (when Chicago was ROBBED and Rondo got away without even a slap on the wrist with some of the most unsportsmanlike shenanigans I have ever seen in a series)

I agree with the Rondo comment. Steve Nash got a two game suspension for walking two feet off the bench, and then returning. Rondo blatantly hits people and gets nothing.
