Hi!
I need to confirm that it uses both cores before I go ahead and upgrade my gtx280.
Thanks

It will work with 2 GPUs. But will not work 3 or 4 currently.

I am using one and it works great.

doesn't work in Tri-SLI or Quad.

The games will work/run but the cards won't be used. The most demanding games Crysis and Stalker Clear Sky have lots of post processing effects issues with 3dvision anyway. So a SLI or GTX295 should be fine but you have to lower or even disable AA if you like 60fps on certain other games in 3d.

On a quad or 3 Way SLI setup. 3D Vision reverts back to a single GPU. On a standard SLI system. You'll get multi GPU acceleration.

Chris can you ping your Nvidia contacts and see if there is any word on them working on multi-GPU for 3d Stereo?

With 3 Way and 4 Way? They have been working on it. Just taking them forever.

So the only way to get my 3D to run in at least 2-way-SLI is to remove my ribbon cable from quad-SLI? :(

Actually you have to take the second GPU out for it to work properly. I "know" I have been on Nvidia case about this for months now.

I suppose or HOPE that a GTX295 with a 9800gtx + for physx wont be an issue right?

I hope that isn't an issue, because I have GTX 280's in SLI and a 9600 GT for PhysX, and I would be pissed to find out that I haven't been running games in SLI using 3D Vision all this time. That's the reason I got the second GTX, because running games in regular 2D on a 1680x1050 screen isn't all that demanding.

It would not be. No.

Yes a member at the mtbs3d forum also confirmed he uses the GTX295 and 9800gtx for physx without issues. :-)

Ok! Been 3 months. Any progress? Am I really going to have to pull one of my GTX 295's out of my system so I can play this Avatar game with decent framerates in 3D? :headexplode: Sad, all my power.. and I can't even get 30fps on Avatar 3D DX10 :cry:lol

how about play Avatar in 3d on three screens? It was running on that config at PDXLAN 15 . . . very sweet.

I'm selling off one of my GTX 295's because of this problem:headexplode::thumbdwn:. Sorry NVIDIA.. no more quad-SLI for me.

So that explains this i guess:

Trying to run 3 displays with 3D vision enabled and the Fps performance simply tanks on anything but Quad SLI setups with the current Nvidia cards...Hopefully it'll be better with the GF100.

Wait, so do current drivers work with 3D Vision Surround, or did these guys just get their hands on some unreleased betas for that? Because I have a triple monitor setup (just not all 3D) that I would like to try out before Fermi comes out.

I believe 3D Vision Surround won't be out until the driver that officially supports Fermi is out. This is just an estimate not actual numbers. But is is obvious that you need enough power to run the extremely high resolution and then need the power to run it in stereoscopic 3D. From what I hear the demos seemed to be running alright at CES with dual 285s so maybe there have been driver improvements with stereoscopic 3d?

I wish they'd get support going for Tri/Quad-SLI for a SINGLE monitor :thumbdwn:
