Well, took some advice and rolled back to the 186.18 drivers and things are MUCH MUCH better now. Not only are they a must for Fallout 3 and WoW (I can barely get 30fps in wow with any 190 driver and its not a vsync issue) but they also fixed my WMP choppy playback issues and I no longer get the "Invalid State 32" event log error which all 190 drivers puke out. Even windows Aero feels smoother and my WEI score has gone up! I knew Windows 7 was better before and I finally found the cause. Many thanks for the info guys; nvidia can shove their 190's where the sun don't shine:D

Your symptoms seem serious, probably something wrong in your system somewhere. I have no issues with these drivers. FO3 works fine mostly with the turning stutter still there, however doesnt bother me at all. WoW is running at around 200FPS Vysnc Unlocked and 120FPS with Vsync locked.

And best of all, 3D Vision on WoW is SPECTACULAR!:captnkill:

All sensors working here and in sync (GPU-Z / Everest) on both cards (GTX 275 / 8800 GTS 512 PPU).

About Fallout 3 and the turning stutter. Just something I remembered. With Halo 2 on the PC the game used to stutter bad when it came out. Apparently, the cards at the time were too fast for the game. Older (slower) cards didn't display the issue. Enabling Vsync fixed the turning stutter completely. Are you guys playing with or w/o Vsync?

I've been on the 186.18s for ages btw. Really reliable driver set. Even though I don't play FO3, I wont update them with all the problems I've been reading about with newer sets...

That's what I thought too so I did a clean windows install and was blown away when I saw it made no difference. Then I noticed that my cpu was not jumping to full speed in most situations. Went in the bios and disabled the C1E/C2E options and now everything is like it should be (not sure why the hell I used that tbh). Its now stuck at a solid 60fps with V-sync enabled!
It was however still slightly choppy at places until I also set the 3D performance mode to Max Performance instead of Adaptive. WoW is finally fixed and my system feels a lot more responsive. Even my movie playback is buttery again. I'll test Fallout tomorrow once I install it but I'm glad I found my real problem.

Edit- Btw, do the 186 drivers have the Performance mode option? I was just using them yesterday but I don't remember.

My sentiments EXACTLY!

The game was an absolute RIOT until I slammed into the L.20 wall then my interest slid down that wall like a dirty pair of underwear that almost stuck.

Are you guys playing with or w/o Vsync?

I use VSYNC religiously. The 60hz LCD era made this an absolute necessity for anyone who cares even a little about image quality.

The DLC's raise the level cap.

Did a clean install of these last night and Fallout 3 is running fine for me... I did install these hoping to fix up the odd 'driver has crashed' which sometimes pops up in Batman AA which puts my cards down to sleep-level speeds and makes the game choppy until reboot... this did happen to me again with the new drivers so it doesn't fix that (if anyone but me has ever had that, that is).

Strange. I've been using 191.07 beta drivers with Fallout 3 and I experience no stuttering at all. I've applied a Large Address Aware for Fallout3.exe and I use Fallout Stutter Remover and everything runs fine and dandy with NMCs' texture packs.

That reminds me, my Fallout 3 (which as stated before runs perfectly fine with the most recent WHQL drivers) is vanilla - no mods other than the DLC. Not sure if that makes a difference, but it is probably helpful to some.

Yeah I figured they probably have I just haven't been overly anxious to start all over again especially with the continually reoccurring bug. I play more than Fallout 3 so I'll wait to reboot the game until newer drivers and/or Fallout 3 patches correct the issue.

When i install these drivers under vista x64 they crash like crazy, but when i use them under win 7 x64 the are very stable. My understanding is that the 19x series are best used under windows 7 and not vista.

These weren't bad drivers, but I downgraded back to 186.18 with latest PhysX for Batman AA... I've only played Batman with 190+ drivers, and it's been fine except twice in play where it seems PhysX breaks: Game blanks out for a second, then comes back with a huge graphic anomaly and no more PhysX (objects over and stay still). When the game got into the Botanical Garden, this would happen every time I loaded up within 5 minutes of play.

Eventually I found people on a forum with the same issue and they scrubbed out their 190s for 186.18 and the newest PhysX and it worked for them - I've found the same success. So anyone who's having trouble like the above in Batman may consider downgrading (or optionally playing with PhysX off).

I have the final official version of Win 7 installed now and it fixed the odd problem with the temperatures not being able to be read from the vid card.

I was getting this, see my posts:

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=139648

I concluded this was a power issue, as i have no problems if i run with my relatively low power drawing GTS250 card as display card, and 295 doing PhysX, but when i swap and use 295 for display i get artifacts.

I believe the additional PhysX geometry is making the 295 work very hard and its trying to pull more current than usual, which my power supply is unable to provide.

To be really sure i ought to upgrade my power supply but thats a big deal with all those connections ... being lazy lol

These broke Call of Duty and United Offensive.

Fallout 3 stutter still terrible, and no I am not modding my game to get rid of it when it is a driver problem.

Blah.
