Heh, but I'm only 25, not nearly old enough to be using that as an excuse.:D

I did look at getting something like an F150, really like the space in full-size trucks (I'm 6'5"), but in the end I thought this made more sense for what I'll be using it for and these redesigned Liberties have a ton of space inside too. I'm still trying to get used to driving it because it's completely different from my old Sunfire.

Yeah, I like the new Liberties... that's what I was considering getting. But I'm gonna' be hauling horses, flat beds of hay and lumber, etc. I need something with more muscle- so this F250 is gonna' work just fine. :)

Yeah, if you're going to be towing really heavy stuff a truck is the only way to go. The Liberty is pretty tough, but it's still only a V6 and a short wheelbase which does limit it somewhat. I want a small trailer so I can fit in normal campsites so it's a perfect fit for me.

There ya' go. ;)

And you'll be surprised what that thing can tow. My buddy has an Escape with a V6 in it, but it'll easily pull a trailer with a cord of wood in it. Kinda' struggles going up hill but that's about it.

You got your self a nice rig. :) ;)

I'm hoping the rain we're getting today changes to snow so I can use the 4WD for real. I'm thinking that turning it on to pull off the grass I'm parked on in the horse picture probably wasn't necessary.;)

Promised to post more, so I am. :)

This is our newest "toy"- Starfire. Pure arabian. Well, she's not really ours, actually. More like the people we sold our Arabian, Kiki, to... *eyes begin to water up*

Anyhow... so we sold them Kiki and then they went and bought Starfire. We've been training their granddaughter how to ride using Kiki, and also we're helping them to train Starfire. She's near 12 years old, but spent a lot of time in a pasture without much attention- so she has a bunch of bad manners and habits that we're having to break her of, as well as needing some medical work done. Her frogs are all messed up, and she can't even lunge properly. But, she's a work in progress and when we're done with her she'll be an incredible horse- I guarantee it. ;) :)

Anyhow, here's star fire. Took these about 3 weeks ago. :)

And this is our Kiki. Not really "ours" anymore... but I'll forever think of her as "ours"... so many memories with this horse. :( Anyhow she's the one on the right. The one on the left is Salem- her boy. We had to sell him to. :(

Salem has got some quarter horse in him- get's that from his old man. Anyhow, c'mon ya'll- post yer' toys! :D

Thanks. :D

Have fun in all that snow. Just be sure to bring a shovel in case you get stuck. Something my buddy and I do when we get stuck in the snow (typically high-centered), we dig out the snow from under the tires and put rocks, tree bark, branches- whatever we can find, under the tires to help the vehicle gain traction. Doing that has gotten my buddy's escape out of the snow many times. :D

I just took a walk past some windows and it actually doesn't look that bad yet, but maybe by tomorrow getting stuck will be a real possibility. One can only hope.:)

So I think there's a distinct possibility of getting drifted in at work today. Took this at one of the windows earlier.

Okay, so my buddy that I'm wanting to buy the truck from... well, I've been in communication with him via e-mail (he lives about 6.5 hours away from where I currently live). I don't like it, but he pointed some things out to me about this truck that, if I made a tad bit more, wouldn't be an issue.

In short, it's looking like I might not be able to get this truck. He'll sell it to me, but he's genuinely concerned I might be burying myself in debt by doing so (total cost of ownership being more than I could bear). He broke the expenses down nice and neatly for me, and theres several things I didn't include in my "calculations".

So it's looking *very* much like I wont be getting this truck.

Ya'll might find this funny, but I feel like I just had my heart ripped out of my chest. :(

No, that ain't funny at all. I remember when I was about to get my first pickup truck from a friend. Then he went and wrecked it, and I had to get a pathetic little Honda Civic because that was the second best deal I could find at the time. Sorry to hear things might not turn out the way you hoped. Don't let it get you down, though...it's Christmas. :)

It's really disappointing- I've been driving this Buick for so long... I'm tired of cars. I want a frikken truck! :(

My buddy's truck is literally my dream truck. If I could customize a vehicle exactly how I want it, and money wasn't an issue- it'd end up just like his truck. :(

But I've been looking at the numbers, and what might be wiser considering my current and near future situation, is to just get another car. I mean, my commute into town for work (assuming I land a job in town) will be 70 miles a day, not including any errands I might need to run while in town. My gas bill with my buddy's diesel would be near $300 a month just to commute for work. Might be more practical right now to get a small car. Saw an '04 Focus with low mileage on craigslist for only $3250. That's beyond affordable. Once I'm settled into the new place over there, I could pay the car off completely within a matter of months, and then buy a cheap truck- $1k to $4k. Use that for dump runs, getting fire wood, towing, etc.

I'm still really let down though. I mean, not only is his truck my dream rig, there's also a lot of sentimental value there. I ain't tryin' to get weird or nothin'- but we've gone on a few pack trips and camping trips, him and my family, with that truck. It'd be nice to "keep it in the family", you know?

I'm still headin' to the bank come monday to do some talkin' to 'em about an auto loan, but I'm near convinced now that I wont be buyin' that truck. I mean, if I was dead set about it he'd sell it to me- but I know he'd do it with a heavy conscience. He's really looking out for my best interest and I appreciate that. I just don't appreciate not bein' able to own his truck! :(

God I don't want another car. My Buick's been good to me, it has- super-low maintenance cost, low gas bill, etc... but I feel so restricted in a car. So many places I cannot go and things I cannot do.

But, in the end financially, this might be for the better. :(

Damn, sorry to hear that Redeemed, I know how heart breaking it is to have your heart set on a vehicle you want then can't get it.
It's kind of like meth having his heart set on getting a gay Scion and then not getting it.
