Daughter= NEVER!

Dating is fine, if you know what they're doing. I know people who lost their virginity at 12. What the ****?
 + :spank: = :nono:
I don't intend to traumatize by any means. However, if this is relating to your own children, education is key.

Exactly education is the solution. Though i am shocked you just said that first part. I am about to pass out and die. The question i keep asking in my mind though is how young will people get for volence now and all the other stuff. In my opinion it keeps getting younger and younger. To young in my opinion.

Would you all beable to accept never if that was your son's or daughter's chose or any other chose?
no... you are restricing the kids wants... dating is a part of growing up, and learning from mistakes. it helps you build a better marriage once you are ready to get married.

jAkUp I am talking about someone that makes their own chose and says they don't ever want to date, get married, etc. Never ever. Not someone else forcing them not to.
Then would you all beable to accept that?
oh, then yea... i may wonder why he or she doesnt want these things in life... because they are usually natural human desires.. but whatever he/she thinks is best. im a believer in letting them choose whatever they want in life... im not big on forcing people to do things.

See, I think that's easier said than done. Fathers tend to be very protective of their daughters. Of course I think that is part of growing up and restricting them may not be the answer. It's just hard to let go of your little girl. :)

I'm not big on forcing people to do things either. But it depends on the circumstances and the reasons why they would choose not to date...

Education of what!? It is diciplin and self control. You teach your children self respect and respect for others and you will have few problems. Children have got to know their limits. Children with out bounderies get confused. With consistant and positive messages by the parents children will get confused here as well. You cannot let children make up their own minds about that is right and wrong, you have to teach it to them and they will learn it by their failures and successes. This is the only education they need on this subject. It is not sex education. This only teaches them how to do it. It does not teach them anythig about right and wrong only the right and wrong way to put on a condom.
My child is a testament to what I say. He is on his way to being a good and prductive citizen and hopefully a good father.

Yes you have to restric the kids wants and give them what they need, which is how to handle situations like this the right way by setting firm boundaries. You cannot give a kid a condom and say hey son I know you will do the right thing. Duh! with a condom in his hand the right thing is put it on and use it.

Hmm. Just curious but why does everyone always assume or say that their kids will be a father or mother (or a parent) ? Or evn get married ? What if their chose is to not do either of those ? Will you be mad, not accept it, etc?
I don't get why no one is every very open anymore. No offense.

I am not open to my son running his life any way he chooses while I am raising him. When he is off on his own I trust he will make wise choices. If he doesn't he will face the concequences of his choices and not hide from them because I have given him the tools to do so.
You are right it is up to him if he wants to get married or have children. All I can do is teach him how to be a good person and make good decisions.

UDawg71 well yeah. Whenever your child lives with you they have to obey by your rules. Once there out on their own thats their rules they obey by. So of course. I agree 100%.
I am just wondering why no one can be very open of maybe not everyone is the same and follows the so called "crowd."

Are you talking about alternate relationships? If so I guess I will have to deal with that if it comes up. He is always my son and I will always love him.

10 Simple Rules for Dating My Daughter
Rule One:
If you pull into my driveway and honk you'd better be delivering a package, because you're sure as &$%! ain't picking anything up.
Rule Two:
You will not touch my daughter in front of me. You may glance at her, so long as you do not give anything below her neck the "Don Knotts' Staring Degree". If you cannot keep your beady little eyeballs or your greasy soup bones off of my daughter's body, I will remove them...with a hacksaw.
Rule Three:
I am aware that it is considered fashionable for boys of your age to wear your trousers so loosely that they appear to be falling off your boney hips. Please, don't take this as an insult, but you and all of your coffeehouse loitering friends are complete scheisskopfs. Still, like Fox News, I want to be fair and balanced about this issue, so I propose the following compromise: You may come to the door with your underwear showing and your pants ten sizes too big, and I will not verbally object. However, in order to ensure that your clothes do not, in fact, come off during the course of your date with my daughter, I will take my electric Black & Decker nail gun and fasten your trousers securely in place to your tattered pipecleaner you have for a waist line.
Rule Four:
I'm sure you've been told that in today's world, sex without utilizing a "barrier method" of some kind can kill you. Oh, let me elaborate: when it comes to sex with my daughter, I am the barrier! I will do more than kill you - I will strew your guts from Luna Pier to Sault Ste. Marie!
Rule Five:
It is usually understood that in order for us to get to know each other, we should talk about sports, politics, and other issues of the day. For your own safety, don't do this for I'm very sensitive to politics and sports and mentioning anything of either that I don't agree with, I will crack your skull open on the porch swing immediately. The only information I require from you is an indication of when you expect to have my daughter safely back at my house, and the only word I need from you on this subject is "early."
Rule Six:
I have no doubt you are a popular fellow, with many opportunities to date other girls. This is fine with me as long as it is okay with my daughter. Otherwise, once you have gone out with my little girl, you will continue to date no one else but her until she is finished with you. If you ever make her cry, I will make you cry.
Rule Seven:
As you stand in my front hallway, waiting for my daughter to appear, and more than an hour goes by, do not sigh and fidget. Such a distraction during "M.A.S.H" will cause me to rise up from my La-Z-Boy and backhand you right through the front door. If you want to be on time for the movie, you should not be dating in the first place. My daughter is putting on her makeup, a process that usually takes ANY female longer than painting the Golden Gate Bridge with a toothpick. Instead of just standing there, why don't you do something useful. See that black, Hemi-powered, mint condition, Hearse in the driveway? It's mine and it needs an oil change...
Rule Eight:
The following places are not appropriate for a date with my daughter: Places where there are beds, sofas, or anything softer than a wooden stool. Places where there are no parents, policemen, or nuns within eyesight. Places where there is darkness. Places where there is dancing, holding hands, or any visible signs of happiness. Places where the ambient temperature is warm enough to induce my daughter to wear shorts, tank tops, midriff T-shirts, or anything other than overalls, a sweater, and a goose down parka - zipped up to her throat. Movies with a strong romantic or sexual theme are also to be avoided; movies which features chain saws are okay. Hockey games are okay. Old folks homes are better.
Rule Nine:
Never lie to me. I may appear to be a bald, middle-aged, halfwit. But, on issues relating to my daughter, let's get something very straight, Corky - I am the all-knowing, merciless, God of your universe! If I ask you where you are going and with whom, you have one chance to tell me the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I have a Mossberg 590A1 Compact Cruiser, a shovel, and five acres behind the house. Thought you were going to ride in the Hearse now, did ya? I repeat - Do not lie to me.
Ever.
Rule Ten:
Be afraid. Scratch that - Be very afraid. It takes very little for me to mistake the sound of your car in the driveway for a chopper coming in over a rice paddy near Hanoi. When my Agent Orange starts acting up, the voices in my head frequently tell me to clean all of my other guns as I wait for you to bring my daughter home. As soon as you pull into the driveway, you should exit your car with both hands in plain sight. Speak the established perimeter password and announce in a clear voice that you have brought my daughter home safely and early. Then return to your car - there is no need for you to come inside. The camouflaged face at the window is mine.
I'm such a good daddy, aren't I?

See, most parent would like to see you get married and have children so they can have their grandkids. They want you to have a large family and continue the family tree. I guess that would be one reason for parents wanting their kids to marry and have kids some day. :)
