View Full Version : Where did all the ~ (tilda) files come from?
I noticed a few months back that I had files called "~" (a single character file name) in my Documents and Settings, as well as some other folders. These files are not attributed as system or hidden files. If I delete them, they eventually reappear. If I view them, they appear to have information relating to my outlook address book in them.
Does anyone know where they come from?
Running WindowsXP.

prob a virus.
Yep I've got one in root of C:. 218K.
I have uptodate norton antivirus running constantly, norton firewall, and a NAT router. I dont think its a virus.
I also have a directory called WUTemp on C: being created constantly too.. no idea what makes that..

You have a LeadTek TV Tuner don't you. It is the default storage spot for capturing video and pictures. Just go into the program and change it.

I have a leadtek card, but no TV tuner, and no capture software..
