phillips hopper xg20 projector troubles

I've got a problem with my projector, its a phillips hopper xg20 lcd. it works great for about 30 seconds then the picture goes all pixelated, and a bunch of horizontal lines appear. I can turn it off and turn it back on and the same thing happens, great picture for a few seconds, then ppppttttttt.

anybody familiar with this problem? can it be repaired and is it worth it?

sounds like overheating.
is any part of it extremely hot to the touch?

I honestly haven't looked too closely at it, I've only had it running for a few minutes the one time I checked to see what's wrong with it. I'll see if I can clean out the fan and see what it does. Thanks for the reply!
