I am guessing 70 to 80%

I'm guessing about 40%. Should be nearly half and half. Any positive review will consist of "dumb summer fun".

Saw it tonight. It was definitely better than I expected it to be... but that's not saying much.
Possible spoilers:
The first half of the movie was much better than the second. The scenes were more cohesive, with solid action that had a point. As the movie went on, I began to lose interest in the implausible story (T2, being as unrealistic as it was, you at least never doubted the character's actions or motives). In T3, I would constantly disagree with what they were doing, wonder how they were doing it, and decided that a lot of the scenes near the end were dumb and uninteresting. I came home and rewatched T2 and it was unequivocally superior. T3 is not a bad movie, but it certainly makes you realize how superior of an action director James Cameron is to everyone else out there.

yah there were some lapses in the story :)
but it was a lot better than I thought it would be... and certainly it is a superior film to many other movies I have seen on it..

Maybe if I work up a good enough bloodlust I'll check it out.

Arnold did look surprisingly good. For being as old as he is, he looks more ripped than most of us could ever hope to be. And the TX was definitely hot--she should have walked around without clothes longer. ;)

A good friend of mine is a bodybuilder... Seems like there is a connection between maintaing a high degree of physical fitness and also looking young longer. Most people guess his age at well under 35, and he is turning 39 soon!

Hmmm... James Cameron vs. The Brothers Wachowski... Wachowskis Win! ;)
Or the guy who made Bourne Identity (surprisingly good movie). Or the guy who made The Transporter (owned! the car chases were way beyond nifty.). Or Luc Besson. Or... well, there are a lot.

Luc Besson _did_ make the Transporter :)

Besson wrote the screenplay and might have produced it--he did NOT direct it.
Yup, I was right. (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0293662)

Based on Cameron's track record, I still say he's better than anyone making movies today: The Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2, and True Lies. As for Wachowskis, they had Bound (decent) and the two Matrix movies, the second of which was horribly boring, uninteresting, and pretentious.
and I liked Titanic

Terminator was good.
T2 was watchable.
Aliens... DIE, YOU WHO DARE DEFILE THE LEGACY OF RIDLEY SCOTT! (can you tell I didn't like it at all?)
True Lies. Hah.
The Abyss? Please. What a waste of my almost three hours.

So you didn't like the second installment of Alien or the third, fourth, etc? Aliens was the second flick, if I remember correctly..

Aliens = major blah.
Alien3 = we all know about Alien3.
Alien Resurrection was just plain weird. And not really weird in a good way. It had potential, but it didn't work as an Alien movie.

Really, you didn't like the 2nd one huh? I thought the first and second one were the only two that did anything for me. The third one was a let-down and the fourth one was, as you put it, kinda wierd... and not in a good way.

The second felt like a generic action movie and forgot about what made Alien cool. You know, maybe it's just that the Alien wasn't "new." The first time you saw the Alien, it scared the pants off of you--it was beyond any movie monster prior to it. But, Aliens was just, "Hey, more aliens! Blow em up good!" Alien seemed to be more about everything leading up to when the alien lunges at Ripley, and Aliens seemed to be more about what Ripley does when the alien lunges at her. It just wasn't scary.

I agree with your remarks. The first one was more terrifying. Like when Dallas was climbing around in the guts of Nostromo with that flashlight, turned around and guess who was right there... Now THAT was scarey.
The second one was more of an action flick and didn't have that scarey jump out and surprise you element as much. I didn't mind that, though. To each his own eh? :)

I know there really isn't much I can say to convince you... but T2? Watchable? And The Transporter are Bourne Identity are better? T2 has some of the best pieces of action ever. Two semi chases and the minigun shootout at Cyberdyne is spectacular. And I can't believe you could think that the T2 characters are worse actors or any less annoying than a single character in the Matrix movies--if that's why it was "watchable" in the first place.

You know, I hate to say it, but Keanu is a better actor than Arnie any day of the week...
Plus, T2 needed more Robert Patrick. He's just that cool. ;)
