I suspect that that might be a typo error somehow... cost even the 5600 vanilla is more expensive than that and I don't see how they will all just drop in price so dramatically...

But, if they are willing to honour the price, then I'm getting one!!!

Kev1 & I found a supposed good dela like this in mid-april... 5200U for $94 total @ computergate...

Turns out, they were 5200's with a 64bit memory bus... poo...

I ordered a generic GF3 from shentech and got exactly what I paid for... a great card identical to reference design...

However, I rememmber hearing some bad feedback about shentech mis-representing around last year... I say we all email them on behalf of nvnews and have them give us CONFIRMATION of the inventory... who knows, they could be correct!!

... or not!

dang, this is a difficult one...

Their rating isnt too bad at reseller ratings.

If they arent ripping everyone off, thats an AWESOME deal.

I just checked pricewatch and there are a LOT of 5600 Ultras for under $140 (http://www.pricewatch.com/1/37/5161-1.htm).

Something must be up, it must be a non-ultra. I wanna hear what the clockspeeds are. :bleh:

Whoa...if that is the reak price...ATi will be having some troubles ahead in this price range/market...

Thats something nVIDIA has always been good at...marketing its products and giving those specified customers what they want for the price.

128MB 9600 Pro's (http://www.pricewatch.com/1/37/5162-1.htm) are going for the same price!!!

I've been so spoiled with me 9700 Pro that I ain't been keeping an eye on prices, that is a DAMNED sweet price for both mid-level cards....either of which will game pretty sweet!

(Although, I'd recomend the 9600 pro over the 5600 ultra...but that's me. ;) )

EDITED BITS: Do the 5600's come with tv-out? The 9600's do and ATi has a sweet tv-out picture. (I've never had an nVidia card that did decent tv-out. :( )

I know how ya feel...my 9700 Pro has me not looking at prices lately either...but I might retire this card soon.

nVidia cards almost all do video output nowadays (unless you buy the brown paper bag, Yum-Cha special).

Most nVidia cards (with the exception of the entry level boards and cheaper card makers) have VIVO onboard as standard.

I find both VIVO and video out perform perfectly fine for me (though in Australia we use PAL, not NTSC and PAL is a better video standard to begin with).

Digitalwanderer, all those 5600 in pricewatch below $140 are not Ultras. Gainward always has an Ultra name in their product: 'Gainward FX PowerPack! Ultra/760 GeForce FX5600 128MB'. But note that the Ultra is not in the right position... just very misleading. As far as I can tell, the only Gainward 5600 ultras aren't out yet, but have seen a review at:http://www.nordichardware.com/reviews/graphiccard/2003/Gainward_FX5600Ultra/ and the correct product name is Ultra/760 XP.

The cheapest 5600ultra available now is the Albatron from Gameve.com at $196 before shipping (according to Pricewatch), and it's the old revision one.

I doubt that the BFG one will be $136 because their cards are not known to be cheap and so I reckon that the real price is more like $236 and that Shentech just made a typo error.

I've made the order anyway, since I need to get a new card. I hope they will honour the price, but I have had experience where dealers clearly mis-labelled their price and cancelled my order with the excuse that the item is now 'out of stock'.

Good luck to us all!!

Thanks for clearing that up, I'll have to check on the 9600 Pro page now and see if those are really 9600 pros.

If they are, than nVidia is the one who is going to be in trouble in the mid-range market!

You can also get a Powercolor 9600pro 400mhz core for the same price about $145. These are some really good prices. 138 for a 5600 ultra or 9600pro = Sweet!

Wow,

at these prices, id call the 5600/9600 the first TURE value cards that are 'decent' for games that are out now, nothing fancy but it will get the job done.

No I am not high. My retail leadtek ti4400 is going new for 130 on ebay all the time. Mine can overclock out the balls so I am sure I can get 120 for it.
