ATI, graphics business unit of Advanced Micro Devices, on Monday said that it would increase the price of its ATI Radeon HD 5850 graphics processing unit (GPU) by $20+ due to overwhelming demand towards the new graphics cards as well as increased costs of components and logistics.

that is the price the board manufacturers pay for the chips is increasing by $20. newegg still lists a lot of 5850 boards but they're all sold out right now. I guess we'll see when new stock comes in if retail prices changed any :/

I've still got dual 8800s nothing so far has really convinced me it would worth the trouble for the performance improvement. the 5800 is getting closer to the kind of performance I'm looking for but the shortages and price have me set in waiting for Fermi.

Sorry to take this OT but i'm desperate!

I notice that you are using a H50 CPU cooler in a Grandia case. I to have this case and all the fan fittings are 80mm. Can you tell me how you manged to fit your H50 in?
