Hi Guys,
A newbie here.
Just purchased a PC with a GT 220 1mb card (4 gb ram, Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.5ghz running Vista Home) and I want ot upgrade the 220 because I don't think it is fast enough.
Looking to spend around £150.00 and would appreciate any hints as to which card/s I should look at,
Thanks

AMD 5770 1gb should curb stomp that gt 220.
Unfortunately right now I can't recommend a single nV card as they are all ludicrously overpriced.
Here I can get a 4870 1GB for the same price as a GTS 250 1gb or for way less than the GTX 260 Core 216 that it actually competes with.
4870 1GB if you can get a good deal on one and have the PSU to run it or 5770 1GB which has similar performance to the 4870 but offers more features and draws less power and is DX11 ;)
Cheers,
JC

Hi Guys
Thanks for all the help and responses to my original question.
I think I am getting a little confused about the wattage of the psu on my pc.
It is listed as 250w, will it power either the 4870 1GB or 5770 1GB. If not is there anything better than the GT 220 1GB I can use?
Thanks again.

250w??? that is way way way too low. Just replace your PSU, its easy and inexpensive.
Consider the GT 240. It doesn't require extra power from PCIe power connector, everything is powered from the PCIe slot.

What is that an HP or something?
Yikes on the psu powering all that. You have to be getting dangerously close to the max while gaming.
I'd get a gt240/4770 or 5750/5770 if you want a little more performance and a decent power supply. You can get a nice antec 500watt for cheap cheap and that will supply more than enough power for that rig.
