Nvnews crashes Firefox 3.5

I've pretty much never had a site crash Firefox like this. It's swift, and happens on random reloads.

I thought it was my addons.

Tab Preview
FastestFox
Adblock
Google Redesigned
Cooliris
and a couple others...

but I've disabled basically all of them and it's still happening. My Flash is the newest version.

Anyone else having this problem?

Well I got Firefox 3.5.5 and got no problems reload Nvnews home site and the forum many times so no crashes here.

Make sure you update Firefox to the latest version 3.5.5 and check for latest updates for addons.

No problems here with it. Only running noscript and Adblock. Think it could be a theme not playing nice?

Runnning FF 3.5 with Adblock+ and NoScript and not experiencing any issues.

It crashed once for me, but that might have been because I had other pages. Since then, it has been fine.

I've unloaded all addons, updated flash... and still, nvnews crashes FF.

waow. This has never happened before, and I've been using Mozila browsers here since before Firefox. FWIW I'm using Vista64. It seems to me that the culprit is the ads.

I upped to beta 3.6 and haven't crashed yet. Sad part is that I can't use my addons now. grr

Wonder what the problem is.

I can confirm this. Happens to me at work several times a day, Firefox 3.5

Typically it happens whenever one of the ads on the site gives me an SQL database error. Shouldn't cause the browser to crash, since any sort of database search would be server side...but that's the best suggestion I have.

No problems whatsoever with IE8 though...only crashes on Firefox.

Well, found a solution for you. Install and start using Google Chrome. I downloaded it for the first time and was using it last night and it is MILES ahead of FF. Rock on.

Had an odd problem with FF & NVN earlier today. Just after reading this thread actually :lol:. I clicked on 'New Posts' and the download box popped up downloading 'newposts.php'. I tried clicking on 'Member List', again it opened the download box and downloaded 'memberlist.php'.

I closed FF, reopened it and all was well again.

I haven't had crashes but I've had extreme slow downs on this site recently with FF 3.5.

Huh? No crashes here after updated to Firefox 3.5.5 and since this thread posted last month. :o
