My Hanns-G 28" is on the way out....I should have listened to my friends that said, it won't last :(
I don't need another huge display, but I'd like some suggestions on a decent 24"

I've considered these so far.
Dell 24"

Asus 24"

and the

LG 24"

I also like this larger Asus...not bad with a $30 MIR

I have the 25.5" Asus and its been pretty nice.

Any issues I've had with it are related to it being a TN panel, so the only thing I'd bother getting other than this would be an IPS like the Dell U2410, but they're far more expensive.

I came from a professional grade CRT though, so you'll probably find the image quality of this screen to be fine after coming from a Hanns-G.

So... its big, it looks fine, it has lots of connections so it can double as a TV (minus the remote) and its fairly inexpensive for what you get. I've had no problems and no dead or stuck pixels.

I have the Dell you linked...its ok at best :( I really miss my Ultrsharp. I just didn't have the cash to upgrade GPUs and an LCD at the same time.

I'd really like a decent 24incher, but have yet to decide one something firmly. The dell.ca site has the UltraSharp U2410 at 750, which is pretty ridiculous. Must be 1920x1200 though.

Its much cheaper here my friend...I'm thinking on getting one my self ;)

I snagged the Asus VW266H 25.5" (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236047)....The price between it and the 24" isn't huge, I didn't want to downsize too much. Mostly, the 25.5" native res. is a full 1920x1200(which I have on the Hanns-G) but at 25.5" I should get nice pixel density and IQ

It'll be here Friday :)

That is the LCD that I own. You will love this thing, out of all the TN panels I have owned this one is the best by far.

Dell recently had the U2410 on sale for $409 plus tax.

Pretty good price. I probably would have taken the plunge and bought one if I didn't have this Asus already.

$400+ would have been well over what I wanted or was willing to spend. The deal was damn good on the Asus and put right where I wanted to spend.....First, Newegg cut the price $20 too $299-$30mir-$20 newegg promo code I had....

edit: okay I'm pissed :(

I just looked at the link and newegg has cut the price by a full $40 and incl. free shipping ...errrrrr :fu: this must have happened hours after I ordered ...crap #%$ could have save another $30..

I got the Dell S2409w, but I am not going to change it out for my Dell 2408WFP. I'm happy with it. I may just use my S2409 for PS3 gaming....

I like this Asus monitor....It is a better size for my PC area. I love it so far in games, I used "game mode" and details I've never seen before are popping out at me. I'm still adjusting for the right desktop colors, but text is clear and sharp and generally looks great.

I think the scenery mode is the best on the Asus monitors personally.
